He ended up working in to be at his peak the best C in the game and one of the most skilled big big men ever. But much like Ralph Sampson he was just too big and couldn't stay healthy. I do wonder how his career would have been if not for playing for the Chinese team every year and basically getting no time off. The worst is that he was a genuinely good guy and great ambassador for his people.

Too much stress and strain on the bones and joints. Bones and joints just aren't made for that.

the Yao joke at the ESPY's was pretty great.

"Yao Ming announced that he's retiring from basketball.....or thats hes retiling his bathroom, its really hard to say."

Too bad he couldn't stay healthy, most guys over 7'2" can't. He had the skills to be HOF material, but not the health.

Everyone gets in the HOF, it's not just for the NBA.
