As a Rockets fan, I never thought he'd be any good at all. He ended up working in to be at his peak the best C in the game and one of the most skilled big big men ever. But much like Ralph Sampson he was just too big and couldn't stay healthy. I do wonder how his career would have been if not for playing for the Chinese team every year and basically getting no time off. The worst is that he was a genuinely good guy and great ambassador for his people.
