This was a semi final game between junior players from Hamilton and Montreal.
Apparently the Montreal players were being taunted by the fans...

nope semi pro 18-22 years old
thought they looked pretty big. Back when I was in H.S, we got into a HUGE brawl with the other team. Fans started running onto the field fighting each other. It was CRAZY!!! Cops rolled in, shooting pepper spray everywhere. It was an away game for us. They had to escort us out of the city.
They were pissed cuz we won the game. The next season, that team went on to set national scoring records.

Fans went to see some football and a hockey game broke their noses.
No major injuries were reported.
Members of both teams were involved in the fight.
Trash talking and abusing players family members in the stand was the main cause.
The cops broke it up.
