Marcus Thomspon interview:
http://www.ibabuzz.com/warriors/2010/07/15/joe-lacob-we%E2%80%99re-all-about-winning/

How does it feel to fulfill your dream?

LACOB: “It’s a great, great feeling. I live in the Bay Area and have for almost 30 years. I’m a Warriors fan. A season-ticket holder. A Stanford basketball guy. This is a dream come true.”

When do you start making decisions and making this franchise yours?

LACOB: “I’m not going to talk about that. But we’ve thought about this. We’re fans just like everybody else. We think we understand what has to be done. But I’m going to take my time. We’ve got to close this deal first. We’ve got to get league approval.”

Good read...im liking it so far...we'll see how it is when he starts making real moves.

What do you guys think about the team hailing from "Golden State"? I think they should change that back to SF, or Oakland, or something.

I like Golden State. Don't like oakland but do like sf if we move back to sf.

I'm excited. I don't mind that Larry Ellison didn't get the team. I know he is one of the richest man in the World, but the guy has issues. I lived in Atherton, near Menlo Park/Woodside and have known ppl who work in Oracle and from everything I've heard - he is a micro-managing egomaniac who can be quite cheap.

I'm not saying that's how he would have managed the Warriors, but the guy does have some bad reputation. Recently he sued the city to get $3million tax break on his property tax and I understand $3 million is quite a bit but for a guy who has billions of dollars and lives in a house that was built for $200 million dollars - it's change.

I'm sort of glad Larry Ellison is NOT the owner of the Warriors.
^ ive heard the same from a person who worked at Oracle.

"Coming in and turning around the Warriors could make you a legend in these parts. Is that the hope?

LACOB: “We’re fans, too. We all think we can do this better than the current owner. We all do. Certainly, it occurred to us that given the history we could wind up looking pretty good. With their record (on the court), you couldn’t go much lower than that, to be honest. But we’re going to try to do everything we can to do a better job.”

“I do want to say that they did a good job. Things on the business side have been very, very well. Obviously, I know it’s all about the results on the court. We all get judged on results and I expect and I expect to be judged on the results.”
Im happy we finally sold but this is like making out with a hot chick and about to go all the way and you get cockblocked.
What do you think of the recent moves, specificially acquiring David Lee?

LACOB: “I’m not going to comment on that. I know they are doing the best they can do.”

IF the deal for acquiring the team was agreed upon on the 4th of July - then obviously the Lee trade was approved by Lacob.

I like Golden State to be honest with you. Maybe "San Francisco Warriors of Golden State"
Just as long as it isnt the Oakland Warriors I am fine with it. If they call it the Oakland Warriors I will become a Kings fan.

Now that's loyalty. You're ok with them playing in that city for 30+ years, but if they change the location name to match it, you're out.
