Is Stephen Strasburg really the next Nolan Ryan?

Is Stephen Strasburg really the next Nolan Ryan?

Strasburg won't be Ryan until he learns to get the easy out. He can strike just about anyone out in Baseball but the problem he has had so far in his career is his pitch count climbs quickly and he never seems to pitch beyond the 6th which the all time greats do.

It sounds like you just described Nolan Ryan perfectly. Actually.. Strasburg has better control than Nolan Ryan ever had so his pitch count wont come close to approaching Ryans. He throws under 15 pitches per inning which is excellent for a kid his age ( or actually any starting pitching). RIght now he is throwing less than 2 pitches more in baseball than the top guy ( Ted Lilly) He cant help it if guys can hit his pitches. LOL

how did he do against the Giants?

Pitchers would be suspended if they threw at batters like Ryan did. He'd plunk somebody if they went yard on him. Throw all up in guys faces. Pitch unreal pitch counts compared to today's standards.

It's sorta like Ronnie Lott. You just can't play the game the way those guys played it back then.

Watched the game with Rubber at his house today. He was sporting the Strasburg jersey.

True story. I don't joke about this s**t.
