I don't pay much attention to early spring training results. A lot of the guys playing are scrubs with little shot of making the big league club.

True especially the first week or two results, win loss record at least.
But nice to see the youngsters do well like a Carter or Taylor.

Article at AN about the A's radio issues.
Basically it was 860 and not the A's themselves that made the switch from Buan to Townsend.
Also with a new transmitter in Hayward, the signal will be as strong as any SF based 50K watt station during the DAY according to A's official Pries, but when the sun goes down, they have to basically turn off the switch and it'll go back to being pretty mediocre for many A's fans regarding the reception.
Still no talk about a local call in show.

Chavez also hit a 3B today.
Not gonna get any hopes up. I know a lot thought too much about Chavez hitting a HR off Lincecum in SF straight away CF last year just before the season started in the bay bridge series and look what happened just a few weeks into the season, Chavez went down and went down for good for the year.

Rosenthal on MLBN's MLB Tonight says he loves the A's pitching staff and they'll be a "pain in the rear" for opponents because of how well they could pitch this season.

A's win today.
DLS will be pitching tomorrow with Anderson starting so we'll get to see him visually for most likely an inning at the most when the game is tape delayed until 4 our time on MLBN.

Saw CSN Comcast Central is in midseason form.
They showed highlights of both SFG games SAT but just showed an ornate box score for the A's, nice.
But hey, they showed the A's box score first thought.

ESPN's top fantasy prospects for this upcoming season, two A's made the list, guess who they are...
Quote:
12. Chris Carter, 1B, A's (Exclusive video )
The A's would prefer to take their time with Carter's development, and they have enough options that they don't need to rush him. The right-handed slugger hit .337 with 24 homers and a .436 on-base percentage at Double-A last season, and four more dingers in 13 late-season games at Triple-A to follow up his 39-homer season in high Class A in 2008. He'll likely spend a good portion of the year in Triple-A, with a chance at getting some playing time if something happens to Daric Barton. Carter's best position is DH, and the A's have apparently scuttled plans to give him some work in left field. The strikeouts will always be high, and scouts still have concerns about how well Carter will handle big league breaking balls and off-speed stuff, but he was able to shorten his stroke a little bit without sacrificing his power last season, meaning he could be more than just a mistake hitter. He's also more than willing to take a walk, if necessary, instead of pressing and chasing a bad pitch. There's no denying he has a high ceiling, and he's definitely worth taking a chance on if he gets an opportunity.
22. Michael Taylor, OF, A's
One of the best outfield prospects in baseball, the 6-foot-6 Taylor is not just another lumbering swing-and-miss slugger. He's a good athlete who can hit for both average and a good amount of power, and he actually handles the strike zone pretty well and can take the ball the other way. Taylor has remade his swing from the hitter he was in college at Stanford, which shows an ability to make adjustments that should help him adapt well to the big leagues. The A's have enough outfield depth entering camp that they don't need to rush Taylor, but he's close to being ready and likely will make his debut this season. Consider him an AL sleeper.

Some whispers that Rosales who most project as the A's utility IF could actually challenge for the starting SS over Pennington.
Both have options I think and supposedly the A's brass still isn't sold on Pennington. Pennington probably is best suited as a utility IF if he were on a team that had a legit starting MIFs. Just don't think Rosales is that. Green probably will be that if he stays at SS.

Anderson also had his first start.
Didn't give up any runs, but was shaky with command.
1.2 gave up a hit/2 BBs but did have 3 Ks.
