can someone explain the "icing" rule in the olympics. am not getting this shiite.

Two lines, red line doesn't count. I believe it is just NHL rules since they are using the NHL sized ice.

No, Olympics has no-touch icing.

In the NHL, to get the icing call a player has to touch the puck.

In Olympics, as soon as it hits the boards icing is called.

here's the thing though. in NHL opposing players have the right to skate the lenght of the ice to cancel the "icing" if it's not touched by the team trying to get the "icing" called. but what I've noticed so far is if that if the puck is headed toward the backline the refs automatically call "icing" without anyone touching it from either teams.

thanks. that's what i've noticed. slight differences.
this is Ronnie Wilson coaching, he might be satisfied with a 2-1 lead and tell his team to sit on it.

20 shots vs 6 for the usa

Miller will crack

We have to teach these Canadians how hockey is played

Agreed. I expect Canada to pull a 4-3 win or something of the sort. This game has Ron Wilson's stink all over it.

yeah I was really concerned at the tail end of the 1st period as to how we were somewhat sloppy. any goaltender will crack after so many shots put on goal by opposing team.

LOL. Team USA is trying to teach them a lesson. Great intensity in this game so far. I hope the medal round games are at least this good.

damn maple leaves with their bacons. got to love them though. they're still human beings I think.

All over them. Miller is the only reason this game isn't 5 - 2.
