More like a Texan's homer point of view. I can see a lot of truth in that post, but there are a couple of stretches, too. The current team did not take last years champs to 7 games. It was broken up in the offseason. Your biggest superstar is currently on the Lakers as our 3/4/5th best player, basically switched out for an up and comer who is struggling big time. And some of the best players of the last 20 years? Who? McGrady? Yeah, you guys are all in love with him. Scottie Pippen? Child please. Where'd that get you? I'll give you clyde and barkley, but they went there to play with The Dream, and there isn't a player even half the caliber on that squad now.


You guys are playing well right now, but do you really think that this is going to last throughout the whole season and into a deep playoff run? Artest isn't going to be there to bail you out when Yao fails to help your team again. I hardly think that the role player you guys have in Ariza is going to lead your team anywhere. Good game last night, though.

Artest was terrible when Yao left that series vs the lakers he shot like 30% and never scored more than 17 after Yao left. Brooks, Scola, Battier & Landry helped us that series more than Artest, he was ghost the last 2 games if he would have showed up maybe we win that series. Artest bailed us out??? CHILD PLEASE!!! Ariza is still a role player on this team the ball doesn't go thru him, but what would you know you watch 4 Rocket games a season. Brooks, Scola & Landry power this team we are not a one man show. Ariza 3pt% this year is the same as it was last year with the Lakers. Our team lost 1 player (Artest) this off season and added 2 younger players (Ariza & Budinger to help that loss) If you don't think Scottie Pippen is one of the best that 20 years you got problems.
Drexler, Barkley, Pippen, McGrady, & Artest I would say thats a good crop of guys to draw to any squad like I said it didn't work out but they came.
Nobody said Ariza is our savior we still need a legit star to play next to Yao.

Barkley, Pippen, MCgrady, Clyde, Artest weren't great players at the time? How many other teams have acquired that kind of talent they didn't draft? And Artest wasn't really that great for us in last year's playoffs, it was a team effort and if anything Brooks was the difference in the games we won. As far as this year, no one was expecting anything, for us to be where we are just means we're ahead of schedule. No one thinks Ariza will carry the team, but he has hardly dissapointed, a 25 year old posting career highs in every catagory I would consider a pretty good signing, and it didn't take much loot to do it.
Brooks, Ariza, Landry is a pretty nice and very young core, with Budinger showing signs is a pretty good base. Not to mention Scola, Battier and Hayes (maybe the best low post defender in the league). Wait till we get that star and see how good this team will be.

And some of the best players of the last 20 years? Who? McGrady? Yeah, you guys are all in love with him. Scottie Pippen? Child please. Where'd that get you? I'll give you clyde and barkley, but they went there to play with The Dream, and there isn't a player even half the caliber on that squad now.


You guys are playing well right now, but do you really think that this is going to last throughout the whole season and into a deep playoff run? Artest isn't going to be there to bail you out when Yao fails to help your team again. I hardly think that the role player you guys have in Ariza is going to lead your team anywhere. I mean, I love the guy for what he did for us, but he's not that type of player.

Barkley, Pippen, MCgrady, Clyde, Artest weren't great players at the time? How many other teams have acquired that kind of talent they didn't draft? And Artest wasn't really that great for us in last year's playoffs, it was a team effort and if anything Brooks was the difference in the games we won. As far as this year, no one was expecting anything, for us to be where we are just means we're ahead of schedule. No one thinks Ariza will carry the team, but he has hardly dissapointed, a 25 year old posting career highs in every catagory I would consider a pretty good signing, and it didn't take much loot to do it.
Brooks, Ariza, Landry is a pretty nice and very young core, with Budinger showing signs is a pretty good base. Not to mention Scola, Battier and Hayes (maybe the best low post defender in the league). Wait till we get that star and see how good this team will be.

God you sound like a 49ers fan. Wait until next year when we add that piece... blah blah blah... When was the last time Houston has won anything significant? You have a Center who will most likely never be fully healthy again and you have a few players who would be bench players on most good teams. Ariza has been pretty inconsistant this year along with the last couple of games. Houston is jus playing over their heads right now please see that.
