Stephen Curry might be on his way to the worst triple double of all time.

I looked up "worst triple double of all time" and I found video of Anthony Bowie's triple double
Quote:
Here's what happened: The Magic were leading the Detroit Pistons by 20 points when Bowie -- who was making his second start of the season in place of the injured Nick Anderson -- rebounded a Piston miss. That carom gave Bowie 20 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists, so he quickly called timeout with 2.7 seconds left so he could go for the triple-double. Magic coach Brian Hill was so upset he handed Bowie his clipboard and stormed away. A.B. drew up a play that called for the ball to be inbounded to him and for him to throw a lob pass to David Vaughn.
Doug Collins, who was coaching the Pistons, angrily told his players to stand at the side of the court when play resumed and not contest Bowie's pass. (That'll show 'em, Doug.) They did what they were told; Vaughn dunked the ball home and Bowie got the assist and his cherished triple-double. The funny thing is, that one meek show of protest sort of epitomizes everything that was wrong with Collins as a coach...and David Stern fined him $5K for it. (Thank God he's not coming back to Chicago to coach next season.)

I remember that. Collins was REALLY pissed.
Personally, I count Ricky Davis'.

Best thing Deshawn ever did during his time with the Jazz

Good game, fellas. This game was one big clusterfck, but the Warriors seemed to sh!t on themselves a little more than the Lakers. Shannon Brown makes up for his hideous dunk contest performance. Well......almost. Yeah, not really. I guess he just had a good game.

Pete.. Curry had a terrible shooting night but I dont know how you could be critical of any other part of his game tonight. If you watched the entire game (which I assume you did) he found wide open guys with some excellent passes and could have easily had gotten double digit assists if his teammates didnt miss pretty easy shots. He also hustled and played very hard which shows with the 10 boards.
Curry shot his 3's way too quickly and should have been more patient in looking for shots. I think he probably thinks he needs to score more with Ellis out.
All I know is every single NBA expert that I have read from does nothing but praise the kid.

It wouldn't be the first time I'm wrong about a guy. I think he's a decent player and excellent passer, but I don't see the player that many others do, for the following reasons.
-He's a PG. He's has legit passing skills, no doubt about it. These weren't able to be displayed at Davidson to the extent they are now because he was the #1, #2, & #3 option on those teams. However, his ball handling is very suspect, IMO. In both the preseason and the few regular season games that I've seen, he's very turnover prone when pressured, especially by physical guards. Scouts are going to sniff this out and he's going to see more of it. It's a part of his game that he can improve, so we'll see.
-He's very below average amongst starting PGs in terms of his ability to get to the hoop. In order to truly take advantage of his passing ability, he needs to be able to penetrate and collapse the defense. He makes some great passes, but they're usually to jump shooters.
He's a better passer than a guy like, say, Rondo...but Rondo will average more assists because he's able to get to the hoop on a regular basis and make a simple pass to a big man for a dunk. Often times, penetration is what causes an assist as opposed to a great pass.
-Defensively, he's all hands and reaching, but I can't judge too harshly because he's in a ridiculous environment when it comes to defense.

I think many people simply judge a PG on whether they can get to the hoop. Steve Nash and John Stockton werent that kind of player yet were amazing team players. I see that in Steph Curry. Sure, he isnt a polished ball handler yet but that will improve. Remember in college he wasnt asked to do that but was simply a scorer. Also, give him a true inside scorer and I believe he could get the ball to them and not just to jump shooters.
I think you tend to judge players on their elite athletisicm much more than their basketball IQ and knowledge. Maybe I am wrong about that but that is what I sense from your many comments. Curry may not be John Wall when it comes to freak athletic skills but his court awareness and passing skills are really top notch in my opinion. By the way, no one is saying that Curry is as good as Derrick Rose. If he was he would have been the first or 2nd player picked in the draft. He was the 7th pick and I think has far exceeded most expectations. Learning to play in the NBA is no easy feat and when you combine that with learning a completley new position its pretty remarkable how well he has done.
People are all giddy about Brandon Jennings but the only thing he CAN do better than Curry is penetrate. Who will be the better player long term remains to be seen but I would not deal Curry for him I know that. I also know that this might be a minority opinion.

Curry >>>>>>>>> Jennings
I don't think it's that close.

Anybody going to the game? Not me, and I am going to have to catch the game on replay. I'll be about an hour and a half behind you guys. Good luck to all.
