Anyone else kind of pissed off that Hughes didn't throw at anyone after Jeter then Cano got hit? that was bulls**t. Hopefully CC will settle the score tomorrow.

With the way Hughes is pitching hell no. He's in the freaking zone right now and I dont want something as stupid as plunking some punk Red Sox player to get him out of it. He's finally showing why people were so hyped up on him a few years ago.

MT, serious question...how can you stand to be a fan of a team that just spends huge sums of money on any player they want?
i get it if you were born in the Bronx or something, but someone who didnt grow up right around NY, how can you have any fun being a fan of a team thats basically a monopoly?
if i was a Yankees fan, id be happy they won the WS last year, but it seems empty because they had to spend over 200 million dollars to get that team. if the Giants could spend 200 mil on anyone they wanted instead of Mark DeRosa and Aubrey Huff, we could win the WS too.
in alot of ways id rather be in a 55 year WS drought than buy the trophy. in the end as a fan, the special part of winning a championship is the waiting and the ups and downs of a season, and it all coming together and working when it matters. i just dont see how a Yankee fan could feel satisfied with the title last year knowing they had an extreme advantage over all the other teams.
i guess this turned into a rant, but i honestly am just curious for your take. im not bitter about it, i just thought about it and decided if the Giants spent 250 mil on their roster and they won it all, it wouldnt be that special.

Why bother the AL even play anymore this year. Yankees will make the WS again.

I became a fan of them when they weren't really spending millions at will at the beginning of their dynasty. Everybody in my school were Cubs, Cards, and Seattle fans and I didn't like any of them so I picked NY after watching a game. Plus you can't really blame them for spending money when its actually the league's fault for not installing a salary cap. If Selig really wanted to make it a fair game he would set the cap around 100 million but until he does teams like NYY, NYM, and Boston are gonna keep spending. Last year was awesome and was extremely special since Mo, Derek, Andy, and Jorge were able to be bring the trophy back to NY. Hal and Cashman did what they had to do to bring in some important pieces and it paid off. If San Fran was able to afford it they woulda tried to do the same thing.

if the Giants started spending that way, id obviously still be a fan, but i wouldnt really enjoy the championship as much. Rivera and Jeter had big parts in the season, but you cant honestly say Pettitte and Posada made the difference. they were paying almost 75 million on 3 players last year.
i guess i kind of feel bad for Yankees fans from the perspective of winning a title being special. they go out and suck up all the f/a talent and spend whatever it takes, and if they dont win the title, everyones bitter all offseason as they pull out the checkbook again, and when they finally won it, it seemed more like "finally. it took 250 million but we got to 27."
my first thought last october when the yankees won it and ran onto the field was how funny it was that this all-star team of guys making a total of over 8 times other teams was all excited that they won. can you imagine if one team in the NFL got to sign all the best players in the league? they run out a pro bowl team and win the super bowl, its not impressive.
thats just my take, im not trying to single you out. i just thought id ask a yankees fan who wasnt born into it how they got excited about the title.

You're slipping. You're not supposed to be a baseball fan let alone a Yanks fan, remember?
I'm bored. It's the only thing on tv.

Well I hope today's game and the last week is a sign of Tex getting going. He's gotten off to a slower start then normal. Another win for AJ today as wel to improve his record 6-2. Looks like if things keep going like they are AJ, Phil, Andy, and Mo could all be All Stars.
