My guess is that it's the difference between recruiting the 'right' players versus recruiting the 'best' players.

The right players for the right system with the right understanding of what is needed from each and every single one of them in order for the team to win...
Without a doubt the most nonathletic basketball game I think I may have ever seen...I've seen 13 year olds more athletic than most of the guys out on the court tonight...s**t...

Don't you think it was due more to the defensive discipline both teams showed? There was hardly any room to display any athleticism.

Why has Team USA ever lost a game?
Why didnt the Lakers win it all when they were stacked with payton, Malone, Shaq, Kobe?

Actually I was thinking about this. I think basketball is the only sport where you can make a legit argument that a great college team could beat a bad professional team.
Particularly is that college team is playing winning basketball.
Sure the college team would be at a disadvantage athletically, but still, they could pull it off.
Can't say the same about the NFL.

Because Shaq and Kobe didn't get along, Malone got hurt and was overrated. And Payton and Malone were past their prime.

I'm guessing experience. Three of their starters were freshmen. Or maybe overconfidence. We'll never know.

Oliver Purnell, formerly the Head Coach from Clemson, is now the new Head Basketball coach here at DePaul University. No big deal for anyone other than myself probably.
Hopefully this scrub can restore order... Anything is better than Issah Thomas... jesus I can't believe we interviewed that guy... Reggie Theus was also in the running whom I would have rather had.

I think chemistry is a HUGE factor. That takes time, obviously that's something you risk giving up when you're recruiting 1 and done players.
