I'm not trading Gooch for Kaberle if I'm DW. That'd be a flat out retarded trade. Completely asinine. Gooch is first line material. He's one of the best, if not the best forechecker on the team and arguably the fastest. Had he not had a brief injury, his numbers would've been even better.

32 years old isn't ancient, but compared to Seto, Kabb is an old fart and not worth losing Setoguchi for. Kaberle is not as valuable as Burke wants to make it seem he is. He's just biding his time until some idiot bites. I hope that's not us.

as the season nears he will trade him or when he goes through every team and none bite. he will lower the price

Probably. It's as clear as day no one is willing to give up more than what Kaberle is worth, and that's what Burke is asking. He needs to pull his head out of his backside (could take a while since it's plunged so far down in there), and realize he's overvaluing his player. Either way, I could care less because there's really no one I'd give up for him on this team.
might move clowe + huskins for kaberle

KAbby would only stay for a year though

Then what's the point, I guess, really?

Keep Clowe, one of best power forwards and board-battlers to get the tough goals, especially in the playoffs.

Huskins, sure. I'd rather give up Husk and picks.

That would be a dream come true for me. Though, I suppose not literally. But for you, yes.

dont be surprised if the hawks match the offer

and then let Niemi walk

only to sign turco cheap

Things would get even sadder for Chicago both ways. Losing Hjalmarsson, or losing Niemi. Have to wonder where Niemi would go.

Screw Kaberle. I'd rather take a budget-friendly Willie Mitchell, as long as he's good to go.
please dougie

trade for m.staal

Always a gamble signing any post-concussion guy. It might not take much contact to scramble his eggs again. For his sake, I hope he retires while he's still functional.

That's what's happening with Kim Johnsson. He's retiring. At this point, there really isn't anybody else left worth signing. We're pretty much set to use Wallin as Blake's immediate stop-gap replacement.

Murray Boyle
Vlasic Wallin
Demers Huskins
Leach (1 year, 500K deal)

That's what we have right now, unless we bring in some rookies.

Marc-Andre Bergeron is still a FA, but he was hurt last year too. Joe Dipenta is a FA, but he played in the Elite league last year... Can't see him coming back over, but he was a cup winner with Anaheim.

Among the rest, the only names anyone would have even heard of before would probably be Exelby (No), Lukowich (stay away), Randy Jones (No), Sydor (too old), Pothier (okay, but not young), Shaone Morrisonn (average).
lol @ eklunad saying sharks are in the running for Kovy
According to a close friend of Mike Modano, he's narowed down his choices to San Jose, Chicago,or Minnesota
