We better be going after a big bat, even if we have to trade for one.

I agree 100%

Would Pujols even be a possibility? Or are we set with Morales/Trumbo at 1B?

Doubt it...but if Morales can come back healthy and stay healthy he should add some much needed hitting...still thinking we need to add another good bat to the lineup.

I like where this team is going. Good mix of youth and veterans

I wonder what's gonna happen with Trumbo/Morales. Are they gonna split time at DH/1B? I would really like to see us try and convert Trumbo into a 3B. We haven't had a power bat 3B since Troy "Glass".

Some potential FA candidates should be:

Josh Willingham OF/DH hit 29 HRs and 99 RBIs for the A's (in that bad park too). Vernon Wells is just awful, I don't want to bank on him returning to form, we need to replace him.

Michael Cuddyer (even though he's 32) he could provide good depth at multiple positions and should be good for 20 HRs 80 RBIs.

The big name 3B would be Ramirez. Aramis Ramirez...the same guy we've been after for a while now, but at 33, would it be a mistake to give this guy a big contract? and he will get one from some team; he's by far the best 3B available.

Yeonis Cespedes. A cuban defector (just like Morales). He is the player I want the most this off season. The problem is, every team is going to want this guy. He is being called the best Cuban player this generation will see. He is a 5-tool OF, the big problem is he plays CF, and we are already stacked at that position. Still, we need to at least try and go after him.

These are the only interesting hitters out right now (not counting 1B). If we do get a big bat, it will most likely come from a trade.
BANG BISCUIT!!!

My dream line-up for the regular season (batting order):

LF - Trout (the new "Salmon" )
2B - Kendrick
DH - Morales
1B - Pujols
3B - Trumbo (make it happen!)
RF - Hunter
SS - Aybar
C - Conger
CF - Bourjos

Trout, Trumbo, Aybar, Kendrick, Pujols, Weaver, Haren, Santana.

Wow, you guys have a nice core that will be there for a while.

P.S. Trade us Trout, Trumbo and Aybar for Lincecum

Trumbo, Aybar, and Santana and we got a deal!

But, ya...we do have a really nice core of young talent mixed with vets. This truly is a dream team for me.

You know how trends happen. I think Angels will follow a few others in a rare coincidence of a trend occurring.

1. Miami Heat become a Dream Team: Dissappointment
2. Philadelphia Eagles become a Dream Team: Dissappointment
3. Angels???

adding Pujols and Wilson doesnt make them a dream team
But the Angels already had a good Nucleus of young up and coming talent. They would have been contenders this year even without pujols..However, with pujols they add much needed power and a great hitter. Im not saying they have all the known talent in the world but they are a very good team, with now one of the best pitching staffs in the league.

Making the NBA Finals with a new roster is a disappointment?

The only person that dubbed the Eagles a dream team was Vince Young, and the media, specifically ESPN, ran with it.

Are the Angels a dream team? Well, pitching wins in baseball, and we have one of the best pitching staffs in all of baseball, including our bullpen. We have 3 hitters now that are going to hit 30/100, and an overall good defense, especially in the OF. It's close to a dream team, it just lacks the big names.
The offense is going to be fantastic, but one of the best pitching staffs in baseball? Hardly. Weaver is excellent and Wilson is great addition but the rest are question marks.

Haren is a stud, and Santana has shown he can be too.
