He's 6'3", 240lbs and has played QB, RB and WR in college. Gray has worked with former NFL TE Ben Utecht in an effort to transition to TE at the pro level.

As a Sophomore WR, Gray caught 42 passes for 587 yards and 5 TD's.

As a Junior, he played QB, completing 108 of 213 passes for 1,495 yards with 8 TD's and 8 INT's and rushed for 966 yards (4.9 ypc) and 6 TD's, running the read-option.

As a Senior, Gray played QB and RB and rushed for 390 yards (5.4 ypc) and 5 TD's.

He ran a 4.73 40 yard dash at the Combine and although the Niners have him listed as a RB, his best option to make the NFL is as a TE.

Gray has experience running the read option and as you will notice, he is a load to bring down.

And here's some more scouting porn with Gray playing WR.

He is definitely a unique athlete and I'm excited to see how he develops in our system. Go Niners!

The guy was training at TE before tge draft, I doubt he plays RB, he is too slow.
Nope
I think he would make a great power back..will have too see how they use him

He's got the size. He could be the new Swiss army knife.

Could he be a FB? Maybe not, probably too tall but you put him in the backfield and the possibilities are endless!!

Man it seems we have a couple of them this summer
I kept looking at those highlights vs Texas Tech waiting for him to throw a pass. In fact, I'm still waiting!
Really anxious to see this guy play in pre-season. Extremely versatile. RB-FB-TE-WR. If he can play special teams that's another bonus. I'm looking at him to compete with Dixon for a roster spot. He brings a lot to the table.
In the WR footage, his footwork after the catch is much better than the Vance McDonald footage. On the short throw, Grey actually makes tacklers miss.

McDonald, at 270, just lowers his shoulder and punishes the tackler.
