You'll have to wait until the 2013-14 Season ... however, this will give you an idea:

I want to believe but I'm struggling to think of SB losers who redeem themselves.
2011 Pats? 2010 Steelers? 2009 Colts? 2008 Cards? 2007 Pats? 2006 Bears? How far back do I have to go to find a SB loser who got back and won it all?

I can see the Niners becoming the first team to win three consecutive Super Bowls if all goes well.
1. the defense will be much better in 2013 if the GM/coaches do their job this offseason and keep them fresh throughout the season.
2. The offense the same thing--the future is very bright.
3. fix the special teams-- a new kicker and the coverage needs to be back to the 2011 level. Maybe a new punt returner.
the thing with 14 picks is--are there 14 players that will be replaced that are on the roster now?
I think the Niners will trade some back into the 2014 draft.

How many heart breaks before we get to actually celebrate this time of year? I am not sure how many more of these I can survive. Seriously I actually had a better time when we were going 2-14 and 6-10 than these kind of seasons. It is hard to say how long our window will be open and how many times we can battle through this increasingly tough NFC to reach the big one. Just seems like we are cursed to fall short. I hope not but damnit everything points that way.

Young team learning important lessons about what it really takes to win. Example? First play of the game - a penalty. I think those moments will resonate with players that every mistake, each time you don't execute, each time you don't put 110% into that block, into that route, each time you don't lay out and give everything for a pass, each time you don't communicate well with your teammates and find yourself in no-man's-land against a fast receiver, have the cumulative effect of changing momentum and affecting the outcome of the game. Yes big plays can kill you, buy usually it's a series of plays that lead to a loss for two closely evenly matched teams.
I'm hoping the leaders on the team use this as a rallying cry - that we need to be perfect. We need to execute. We need to communicate. We can't have penalties. Now that the offensive leaders are set, now that there's no question who owns the huddle, it's time to understand what's most important. If I'm Davis or Crabtree or Kaep, I'm telling guys - see you in 3 weeks for some pass-catching drills. I think this team will be back as fropwns says, but now my expectations are higher... not just of the players but for Baalke and Harbaugh along with his coaching staff.
Tweak the team. Evaluate talent and improve it. Learn how to improve scheme - both offense and defense. Both units should be more explosive next season.
No more excuses.
It certainly is SB or BUST.
Go Niners!

This year we had a legitimate superbowl team. Next year, Kaepernick has more experience/comfort, our kicking situation will improve, our secondary will improve, and wide receivers will be healthy. The team from this year that was good enough to make it to the superbowl will not remain the same next. They will get better, much better.

I see a very bright future for the Niners with one BIG caveat. Seattle.
I think the Niners and Seattle will be battling for NFC supremacy for the next few years--not just NFC west supremacy.
1. It could come down to who ends up as the better QB Kaep or Wilson
2. Seattle has a huge home field advantage with that noise and crowd--and playing an NFC Title game in Seattle is something you want to avoid.
3. If Seattle becomes a good road team winning the NFC west becomes difficult for the Niners--so that is the BIG caveat.
4. The Niners have to win the division despite Seattle's huge home field advantage for 8 games--and that will be hard to do.
This draft is so important coming up--14 picks--all the off season moves --we need a solid offseason.

The future is bright EVERYWHERE.
I can't believe people are trying to compare us to the "one and done" Super Bowl teams like the Bears and Seahawks ( ). There is NO comparison. We have a million pro-bowlers with perhaps more next year. Then we have one of the most gifted quarterbacks to come out in a generation who will have a full off-season to prepare.

This. Great post and it's the truth.
Truth be told I'm already over it. Last year's Giants game stung more and, weirdly enough, all the heartbreaking regular season losses during the dark ages (03-10) hurt more than this loss did. Because with those losses, you were fed up with losing and fed up with a franchise that seemingly would never return to glory.
Now we have. And although coming just short of Super Bowl titles in back-to-back seasons stings, it will NEVER sting as much as the days of when our Niners were a laughing stock of complete ineptitude.
This is only the beginning...

Defense is old. Kaep is going to get hit running ala RG3 and die in two years. We won't even be the San Francisco 49ers, we're the Santa Clara 49ers now. Nothing good will happen for us. Prepare to be the same old Niners again. Sans the 80's of course. When we weren't really the Niners.

Time will tell if Kaepernick will turn into a Montana or Young. One characteristic those two had was the art of the comeback. The kid showed he can engineer such drives.
