But like it has been all year it takes the offense all the play clock to get a play off. They are breaking the huddle with 12 to 13 seconds left which leaves no time for changes at the line. How many times have you seen Gore or LMJ trying to get Kaeps attention to point out the play clock.

Has anyone mentioned on the last drive at the 7, we had two TOs and with the playclock at .01, Harbaugh calls TO. It was a terrible decision IMO, because if Harbaugh and Roman are on the same page and we are going to throw the ball on all downs anyway, then Harbaugh should have ate the five yards, which would've been better for our passing game anyway. That would have given us two TOs to have in pocket in the chance that we didnt score, we would have gotten the ball back with .44+ seconds instead of .04.
f**k
Yeah, I had the same thought as well. If they were passing, they were better off taking that 5 yrd penalty. Under 2 mins and behind, I rather have the team keep their time outs.

Yeah, from time to time, they seem to forget that our bread and butter is the RUN. We had so many RUN plays that resulted in TDs during this play off run and when it matter most with just 5 yards to go...we decided to pass. Such a heart breaking loss. The only bright side is: Thank God we aren't still being coach by Nolan and Sing.

And it would have given us some SPACE to run better routes. Our coaches simply don't understand the importance of clock management and timeouts. Timeouts are much more valuable then avoiding 5 yard penalties.
However, Kaepernik taking a timeout on FIRST DOWN with 10 minutes to go in the 3rd quarter was inexcusable. That one was just egregiously bad.

There are no bonus points for yards. I don't think it is much harder to get into the endzone from the 5 as it is the 10. At the 10 you have more space. At the 5, you are closer but everything is cramped up.

I'll say this and only this.
We tried to engineer Kaepernick's legacy rather than letting Gore put the finishing touches on his.
We lost because we wanted to prove that Kaepernick was/is the right choice(which he is but that doesn't change that fact that we should've ran the ball at least 2 of those 4 plays)

1. Secondary (i.e. Culliver)
2. Secondary (Cornerbacks in general)
3. Special Teams (100+yd Return straight up the middle in the super bowl?? Are you fkn kidding me?) Block better for LMJ. He will break one.
4. Greg Roman's horrific play calling at the end of the game
5. Lack of pass rush
6. Classic 1st half let down
With all that, we scored 29 pts! That should be enough to beat any team, especially the ravens. I put this on the Defense. What is supposed to be our greatest strength has turned out to be our weakness.

We ran successfully against the Falcons at the goal line. But this was the Ravens. They were prepared for it. They had run blitzes called.

We scored almost easily on a Frank Gore run just 10 minutes beforehand. Ngata was out. We should have shoved it down their f**king throats. Not rolled out... not a fade. Damn!

So?
So running those same plays would not have worked. Run blitzes demand outside leverage, or max protect with a quick slant. They won the chess game.

On that rollout, we would have scored if they called the run blitz on that play. That was the one play they didn't call it. They just won the chess match. Plain and simple.

Did they? Or did we just blow it and try to get too fancy when other things worked in our previous RZ attempt? It's a toss up honestly.

Apparently not. He went to the sideline to get a breather.

I put this loss on Harbaugh. He's wearing a headset, knew what plays were being called, and could have overruled any of the last four offensive plays. Ultimately, if you can't score a TD with 4 downs from the 7.5 yard line, with a championship on the line, then you don't deserve to win---that's less than a 2 yard average per play. Everyone's blaming Roman and the ref's but ultimately it falls on the HC's shoulders. As many others have said, championship teams overcome bad calls and their own mistakes. Get over it. And I'm old enough to remember the 49er defense holding the Bengals on the goal line stand in SB16 to win the first one.
