INJURED RESERVE - Because the media seems to forget...

The Bay Area Sports Guy has kinda covered it this week... a lot of 49er fans are scared bro.

They're scared because of Aaron Rodgers.

They're scared because of that loss to the Seahawks on the road (completely ignoring the week prior where the 49ers beat up on the Patriots on the road).

They're scared because Justin Smith is hurt, and Mario Manningham, Kyle Williams, & Kendal Hunter are all on IR.

And some are scared because Colin Kaepernick is still a little wet behind the ears.

Listen, I get some of it. I really do. But the fact of the matter is that most of the 49ers roster is healthy and ready to roll. Sure, we lost some pieces, BUT SO HAVE THE PACKERS. AND THEIR INJURIES ARE WORSE!

Here is a list of the players on IR for the Green Bay Packers.

Starting tackle Bryan Bulaga (first round pick)
Tackle Derek Sherrod (first round pick)
Starting OLB Nick Perry (first round pick)
Starting ILB Desmond Bishop
ILB DJ Smith
Starting safety Nick Collins (Pro Bowler, was actually released last April due to injury, sadly he may never play again, but there was really no immediate replacement for his level of talent)

How many members of the media have forgotten about Bulaga & Perry? These were key contributors for them at the beginning of the season, and they're not gonna play.

All I'm saying is this isn't the all-mighty Packers of 2010 & part of 2011. This is a team that lost to the Vikings in Week 17 and got absolutely demolished by the New York Giants on the road (just like the 49ers).

Have faith friends. This is anyone's game.

Bulaga and Perry are not in the same company as the Niners losing Manningham, William, Hunter, and hopefully not J Smith.

Perry was nothing special and Bulaga was average at best.

Oh, so losing a starting tackle & a starting pass rush specialist is not a big deal?

Let's lose Brooks & Staley and see how that works out.

This time the Packers got Neal, Walden, Shields on D and Evan Dietrich-Smith on the O Line. They had none of these guys in week one. EDS is better than Bulaga, and Walden is better than Perry. So yeah, theyve actually IMPROVED since the season has started in that respect.

Also, asinine argument stating us losing Brooks and Staley. Your logic is saying all teams starters are equal, one of the dumbest things I ever read.
We are going into the game with 2 kickers? We should be worried.

Bulaga was playing terrible and Walden>>>>>>>Perry so not a huge deal for packers.

Mike Neal is not a great player. When they lost Cullen Jenkins to the Eagles, Neal played seven games in his place and was not very effective.

Evan Dietriich-Smith plays center. He is playing in place of Jeff Saturday, not Bryan Bulaga. Not sure where you're going with that except if EDS is better than Saturday.

You have rookie undrafted free agent Don Barclay right tackle due to injury. You've got Marshall Newhouse at left tackle, who is nothing special. That's why they drafted Sherrod & Bulaga. How have they gotten better at the tackle position exactly?

And if you think Walden is better than Perry, that's your opinion. Perry only has seven career games under his belt. It is what it is.
Well Alex isnt playing in the game. Thats the biggest loss to either team

Well obviously there's that too. But it's not like our team is in shambles.

All Im saying is that these injuries are nothing compared to what we have lost. The Packers can still operate at a high level without the guys that are hurt. For the most part they are far the healthier team.

I think it's about even personally. We are a running team. Our main RB and his new, effective backup are 100% healthy. Our o-line is 100% healthy.

Last year, we were going into the playoffs with Crabs, VD, Kyle Williams, Swain,& later got back Delanie. That's pretty much it.

Now we have Crabs, Moss, Ginn, VD, healthy Delanie, & Jenkins. I like our chances better with those guys personally.

Why is that?

We know one has been struggling and we have no idea how the other will do in the swirling winds of Candlestick.
A couple of the Packers receivers are not at 100% as well. Nelson evidently has a knee problem and Jennings has something he's been dealing with.
