Bowman has been better the last 2 seasons, but Willis is still a top performer. Most Niner fans have a man-crush on Willis stemming from his awesome play when the rest of the team sucked, which blinds them to a certain extent. The heart of this defense is Justin Smith and that's been the case for at least 3 years now.

Ridiculous thread... Willis is our BEST Def player hands down. Teams know they have to plan for him and he still makes plays. Bowman benefits from playing next to Willis.

He is being utilized much differently than in past seasons. I don't see any lack of passion.
