what is the cap hit if we sign alex and then trade him? I know if we sign him it is like 8 million

Alex is due a $1 Million roster bonus in March, if we can get him to push it back to allow him to seek a trade than we will only owe him $1M of his base salary, and save $8.75 Million.
There is no signing bonus to be as dead money, he didn't receive one, just a 4M roster bonus when he signed the contract,
