SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS VS MIAMI DOLPHINS GAMEDAY THREAD (Week 14)

Miami has a solid defense so I dont see how people thought the fins were going to be pushovers,

I think some people are overblowing the Seattle win. The Cards QBs played horribly and again Arizona had no oline or running game, I think Seattle looked alot better than they actually are today. Don't get me wrong its gonna be tough for KAep in Seattle dealing with that crowd and a tough defense. The niners still have issues namely converting on 3rd down, penalties and the lack of explosive plays in the passing game. It will be a tough game but I think the niners will win so long as they do not get overly cute or overly conservative.

Kaep hasnt thrown a TD pass to a Receiver in the past two weeks. yardage is cool, and not knocking any of it, but where are the Td's. Last week a late run, and he played great. This time again last minutes, after the D made a stop. Gore just helped us get another TD. and he scored a TD in what some used to say with Smith, garbage time.

When was the last time, Smith out of 2.5 games, threw no Td's to our WR's and we were all, lets celebrate for the sake of the team. I mean thats horses**t.

We didnt except mediocrity before, and I aint now. He has had no td's in the last 2 games. That is unacceptable, and i dont care if he broke the league and 49ers qB running record.

Point is, he is regressing, in the fact of, less deep balls being thrown. Supposed to have that quick foot, and take no sacks. And even the announcers in the game today, where like he needs to get the ball down the field. Thats why he's in there.

Just saying, give the guy his props for doing what he did do. But i see no big passing plays, and deep throws, ever since teams can now prepare for him. And quiet as kept. IMHO, Kaep doesnt scare anyone just yet either.

I agree. Give him props for the plays he did make, but Kaepernick didn't throw deep any more often today than Alex typically does. I think the little deep plays Kaepernick does get only stand out more because he's a new, exciting player.

thank you...but oh wait seattle was on the road so its ok for them to lose to the dolphins..but us beating this isnt good enough
point is any week any team can win just be happy with the W and hope we keep improving
VD - 1 for 4yds. Unchain the man! Shades of Crabtree in the NFCCG -- 1 for 3 yds.

Crabs got himself a good game today doe.
Purdy hits it spot on in this article:

Alex is Captain Checkdown, and often gave up on the deep routes too fast. Kap is exactly the opposite. He stares downfield far too long and never looks for the checkdown, which leads to sacks.

Crabs looked good today as did Gore (not enough touches) LMJ looked ok. Vernon is a non factor of late and Jenkins did not even see the field. Play calling stunk special teams special on one play then terrible the next. Defense looks tired of late (they have been on the field a lot,) Harbaugh doesn't know how or when to use the challenge and needs to do something about all the penalties. Piss poor on 3rd down. Just my take on the team right now.

Play calling was abysmal.
Some one needs to go and burn Jimmy Rayes old playbook Roman keeps referencing back to.
I will add Clock management to my list of poor things. Also are o-line is at it's best when we first establish the run then mix in the play action pass. They were making running lanes as Frank averaged over 5 yards per carry.

Much as I hate to say it, VD's lack of involvement seems to stem from unimaginative playcalling. Unless it's a wheel route or a shallow cross, we just don't seem to know how to get him involved.

True but 2 of their last 3 games are at home. Lynch is running hard and their D is playing well. We need to get our O going before our trip to Seattle in 2 weeks

Pretty much what I said on the Zone right after the game. Dude must be seeing what I'm seeing out of Kaep.

I think we beat them. Wilson is good, but implodes against any halfway decent D. Shut down Lynch, and I don't see him making enough plays to to snag the dub.

Put him in motion. But we tend to have D. Walker for that. It's Walkers' fault

Anytime VD goes in motion it's a good chance he's going out for a pass. But when Walker goes in motion, he could very well be blocking. Hiding the offense' intention is the idea, and having Walker do the little things seemed to be better for the offense at that. Still-- they have to try to get VD involved.

For example he had that deep miss to moss. Which i was praying he would of caught that by the way. But there arent more like that. Last week in the loss we kept talking about the pass to Delanie. But ok just two passes, should of been a reason to say he's arrived. I mean Kaep aint bad, but to be honest, he's more inconsistent than Smith is, and at least he put up at least 1 passing TD a game. He is exciting, but now im getting a feeling like some of that is dying. With our fan base, with reporters who follow our team, and with commentators and our own HOF's.

After today's win, i heard at least 3 times before the program ended. That the experiment should end, and Smith needs to be back there. now is not the time.

We won today, but we gotta put it in perspective just like we did with Qb's in the past.
