This is really good news. Locking up good players in the era of the salary cap is always a good sign. It sends a signal to other players that the 49ers will retain and pay the best players. It sends a signal that this is not just a team, it's family. Five year contracts also ensure that we get the best the player has to offer through his prime years.
I think the team will be forced to make some tough choices in the long run. Remember that Frank Gore is in the second year of a three year extension that Harbaugh helped secure for him last year. Many posters, including yours truly, were against that deal. I thought Frank's best days were behind him. Boy, was I ever wrong.
But this issue with Gore will come up again next year. What do you think? Keep Frank the Tank around for another three year deal? Or start over with someone else?

f**k yes. I didn't think this was going to happen.
Not only do I think Patrick Willis and Bowman are the two best inside linebackers in the league, I think they work together better than any two line backers in the league.
I like how we go to New Orleans, whoop 'em, and then a couple days later let them know their Dome Patrol is getting hit a notch down.

Not surprised with Rosenhaus. He has good relationship with Baalke, Marathe and franchise. He has done McDonald's, and Gore's deals. Some others too. We have good feeling with him. He isn't a bad guy, just comes off as a slimeball. But seems like he cares about his clients.

I told you guys years ago that Baalke was the man. Anyone remember the endless threads about how we should have hired Michael Lombardi? Yeck!
I saw something in Baalke when he took charge when McClueless was fired. Then he became GM and got us Harbaugh. But tons of credit to Marathe, he is a master of the numbers.

Name a few that are playing better than Bowman? Daryl Washington is the only name that I can think of right now.

Marathe is another guy who got a lot of hate from people on here.

I think he and Willis make it but the best players don't always go to the probowl. Urlacher will probably make it on name.

Urlacher might make it this year. He seems to play his best whenever the game is nationally televised.
