Hopefully, Hunter's torn achilles is a a type 1 tear.
I am no doctor, but a torn tendon is less bad than a ruptured tendon.
I wish him the best of luck, a fast recovery, and a long future with the team.

Jewel Hampton was on some type of IR before his activation.
Was he able to practice or take part in team activities during this time?
Was he eligible for the practice squad?
If he was, does his placement on the 53-man roster indicate that the coaching staff has a high level of confidence in his skill set
He started the season on the NFI(non-football related injury) list which is basically the same as the PUP(player unable to perform) list.
This is how the PUP works.
It's kind of like an injured reserve to start the season but you can come off of it after the team's sixth game. The player doesn't count against the 53 man roster or the practice squad. You're allowed to start practicing after the team's sixth game for three weeks(without counting against the 53 man roster or practice squad) and at the end of the three weeks you must be put on the 53 man roster, the practice squad, or back onto the PUP list(basically IR for the remainder of the season). Hopefully that helps but the link will explain it better.

Very good my dear sir.
Thank you.

I have been re-watching the Saints game all week as I do with every game. Every time I get to 13:06 of the third quarter with second and ten and a 14-14 score it reminds me how much the 49ers need Kendall Hunter. He made something out of nothing. He has done this in almost every game. I think we are going to miss this guy in the play-offs more then some realize.

He's very good and underrated. A big loss IMO. Williams is also a loss. If Ginn goes down I don't trust our return guys. As a WR I think Moss, Ginn, AJ Jenkins in some combination can replace him. It would be nice to see AJ Jenkins actually. But our return game I am worried about after this.

Completely agree. Hunter was a big part of this offense and he will be sorely missed for sure. I hope whoever fills in for him as franks backup can provide the type of play making ability that we got from Hunter.

good thing we're stacked at both those positions. Now someone just needs to step up. I don't see how LMJ doesn't get called up. He's the only other RB with Hunter-like quickness.

I agree that Williams is a huge loss. Williams has been playing very good all year and you just know he was waiting for another shot at the play-offs. Both huge loses IMO.
I need to stop watching this game...as good as it was in many areas I'm not feeling good about our loses in this game.

It really pained me to see both of these guys go down. It just seems that Hunter makes something happen everytime he touches the ball. Kyle Williams has come on really strong this year as well. I'm hoping with all of these amazingly quick recoveries that maybe both of these guys can be back for the start of next season.
As for our rookies, I'm really looking for to LeMichael James's first screen pass .

Big losses but we finally have depth. We have some talented guys that will step up in their place.
