The decisions to keep or not keep players like Goldson, Bowman, Sopo, etc. have pros and cons on both ends. Kinda glad these decisions are not up to me. Bowman is still making chump-change... so it would be cool if he were willing to sign an extension that is feasible for us and would triple/quadruple his income. Or will he wait it out and cash in grand fashion 2 years from now? Sopoaga may stay for less.. but is RJF good enough to throw a deal to him that is half as much in cost of Sopo? Goldson is definitely making it hard to let him walk away.. but he will be free to test the market, unless we can afford to tag him again. Little too soon for me to worry about Culliver. I do think Justin will be happy to sign an extension.. which would save us a few million heading forward. Gotta be time to part ways with Haralson's contract... might have to consider Goodwin too.

So far, the F/O has earned my trust in respect on.. well.. nearly everything.

Agree. I feel just fine in letting the front office handle all of these tough decisions for this team. Would love to keep all our players, but we all know in reality that just can't happen. They have done a very good job and hopefully will continue to do the same in the future.

So you two won't be helping with the management intervention that's planned?

Haha, nope. We are penned in like all of the other mindless sheep that plod along to the will of the Niner's F/O.

before the season, I would not have given him a big contract. However, he is better this year than last year! As a result, I'd like to find a way to keep him.
Stadium cost? Seriously? There's a salary cap and no team ever stays for than a mil or 2 under unless they're in rebuilding mode. This isn't baseball, with unlimited payrolls controlled only by the owners' pockets.

Yeah, it's such a relief to know these two are OK with the 49ers' front office doing their jobs. I'm glad they're allowing Baalke & Company to handle it.

You joke but there are so many on this board who are sure they know more than Baalke and Harbaugh! CK should be starting, Boone should stay at tackle, they should have signed Peyton, on and on. They are all so cool!

I do not believe that there is any connection between stadium payments and player salaries.

The money for players is set by the salary cap and I am pretty sure that that money is not commingled with the stadium funds.
