Yeah, the way he ran as a rookie most would have thought he would have been out after a few years. Guys that run like he did, Marion Barber, etc don't last long due to the punishment they take by lowering their shoulder every run. Frank has been able to stay in the league and perform at a high level because he stopped running like that (at times) and learned to be patient and set up behind his blocks. He also cuts a lot better as he is some what smaller than he was back then. He can still run tough but he does a better job of protecting his body now.

Bowman had a sack, can't remember when... will see when I go back and watch it again. Aldon also came up big with that one at the end. The pass rush was a little better this game. I still think we need to draft a pass rushing DE and/or OLB to give these guys some rest. Only gave up 2 sacks which is good for us. Run blocking was excellent. We had some really good play calls and alex did a nice job of audibling and putting us in good position. We were gashing them left and right. Many of those plays gore didn't even get touched until the 2nd level.

stats say 9 tackles for justin, 8 willis, 7 bowman

Also, they had some dropped balls which affected the stats but still wilson was 9/24 for 122 and an int

our pass d has went from like 16th to 1st and our run d has went from 1st to like 9th... still 1st in defense with total yards i believe after this game

We were 2nd in pts/game on defense at 14.3 compared to chicago's 14.2 but we should take over the top spot after only giving up 6.

I think it was in the third quarter. The pocket was collapsing, Russel escaped and started running for it but Bowman chased him down for a loss

That dugo guy is right. We need to just run this tired old BS into the AS thread. Sad commentary once again as even after a win the main topic if of discussion is AS. Only now , your run more argument holds no water. Gore gave you 130 yards and AS punches it in once and throws for 140 yds. Is that the balance you were talking about we need to see more of ? or did AS just have a bad game ? These things happen right ? It is a team sport, but only one man touches the football more than the rest , gets paid more than rest and is expected to lead the rest . No , it's not the center . It's your man, AS. Or is it????? Lol its almost sad that you are trying to blame Alex Smith's poor play on his backup that was in on 1 play and didn't throw a pass. Alex Smith marched us into the end zone? Not really, we didn't start moving the ball until we went back to our ground game. Alex Smith has thrown 4 picks, 1 td and 300 yards in his last two games in which the team scored a combined 16 points. How bad does he have to play for you to admit that he's not playing well?

3rd and short to 3rd and 7 is a good distance. it also throws alex off rhythm. Theres zero reason to put Kaep in the game for that play PERIOD. alex drove the ball all the way down field so what makes anyone think he couldnt have got it in on 3rd and short? In fact, what makes anyone think Kaep can? alex is a much better QB than Kaep is.

Anyone else laugh/notice when Aldon and Justin Smith didn't want those crappy gifts from Mooch and Irvin?
