The problem i saw with the loss was an old problem we seam to have for the last 10 yeras..WE LET NO-NAME TYPE GUYS HAVE THE FRICKEN GAME OF THEIR LIVES/COMING OUT PARTIES AT OUR EXPENSE !!!!..Its a problem i thought went away last year, but alas it is still here. I have ginuine fear of the Jets, b'cuzz Sanchez and T-Bow can have the same "coming out party" Ponder did !!, Keller is better than Rudolph, and the Jets have a lot of un-heralded players that can "get their groove" back vs. us..

The pop-up on 4th and goal while running backwards was completely absurd.

Ponder won them the game. His scrambling gave them many extra chances. You can't keep giving a team extra chances to stay alive.
We were never really in the game. They set the tempo right away.
Sometimes a loss can be a good thing. I hope we really learn from it. Our future opponents will be studying this one.

^ seriously? If that's the way you beat the 49ers, I have no concerns.
Well get worried cause it beat us. with an average QB and an elite RB 9 months removed from a major knee surgery. were lucky that is how the vikings wanted to play this game because most other opponents wont dumb down their team to do it but those that have the skillset to play this will do it.

This formula esp. works when you know on 3rd and 5+ we'll be playing our CB's 15 yards off (S's 25 yards deep) and ALL of your receivers will have clean releases off the LOS. Simple if you've got a mobile QB just in case there is some pressure (see QB rushing TD and ad-lib plays). Study up Fangio!!!!!
Thank you NCommand. I dont know why NB wont listen to it but we lost because we gave to much to the vikes. They took what we gave them and won with it. end of discussion, Fangio needs to study up, tighten this D and not be so soft.

You don't understand. Ponder doesn't complete those passes nine times out of ten. We win as a result.
Its less clear to see because we had a pass-oriented gameplan and that was a mistake

It was so bad, when I was watching the game with my son, we'd play a game..."Which CB was giving the largest cushion?" We had little arguments as to who was actually giving more...but the point? Whoever gave up the largest cushion got victimized every single time for EASY catches esp. on 3rd downs. It was REALLY sad to watch. It was the difference in the game IMHO. Seriously, go watch the tape. You could see Ponder's confidence (in himself and the game plan) build with every completion. And b/c of those huge cushions (and free releases off the LOS), Ponder had all the time in the world to scramble, run for TD's, ad-lib, etc.

Um well the 10th time happened 10 times yesterday. The vikings offensive game plan completely offset our defensive plan and Ponder played a perfect game. Thats it, our D cant allow a QB to pick us apart on short routes in zone coverage
I dont dispute that the pass game plan was absurd, we got away from 49er football, it contributed to the loss but the 1 time we should've gone pass happy was the series after KWs 95 yard return we reverted to 49er football and run the ball 2x and had a smith rollout for 3rd down? WTF?

Yep, no reason to nit pick it, we gave to much cushion in the secondary and it bit us in the a**.

Agreed. It's a trend I've been noticing with Fangio over the past 20 games. After the detroit game, I was VERY encouraged by his game plan of physical coverage play up at the LOS. So I was really surprised to see him regress to this...and like you said, it bit us in the ass big time! I just hope Fangio "gets it" going forward. Moving on...

You can game plan to blanket WRs, and we didnt do that, we played less man coverage in an effort to be prepared for the run and when we did go man we got lax in coverage when ponder bought time and he made us pay for it. He really only had 1 "Crazy" throw and it was the running right, throws back left across his body to a wide open WR running free because our man coverage got soft.

To rudolph in the back of the endzone? We played that as great as we could and there was 33/33/33 chance that PI was called on either player or not called at all and it wasnt called. I'm giving them credit for their good plays but its plain dumb to think we couldn't have game planed better or played a better scheme then what we did.
