No question in my mind that Hester is better.

Not sure where all this stuff of him being a one-dimensional player comes from. Did anyone watch games last year? He did ST, dominated on the fly sweeps and was one of Alex's only trusted WR's esp. on 3rd downs. Even if he wasn't targeted deep (and he could have been targeted much more), his speed opened up all sorts of space for VD and Crabtree and others (like Hunter) underneath. CB's played WAY off him respecting his speed. His route running and familiarity of the offense got better and better as the year progressed. And in reports this year in TC, he's still one of Alex's main targets. Typecasts...do they ever get reevaluated in here?

Hester is the all time leading returner in NFL history and he's got like 8 years left in his career.

i'd say there pretty even. hester is a better returner but I would give ginn the slight nod at WR.

hester is the best returner of all time
if bears werent so stupid and kept him as purely a returner instead of making him WR then he wouldve broke every record in the books (except yards)

Only if by "all around" you mean not in any way, shape or form.

No. But he's one hell of a return man. And he's pretty good on the fly sweeps. And even his deep speed has to be respected. The defense can't count on him dropping it everytime. Ginn is extremely reliable catching punts and kickoffs. And we saw how important that underrated skill is.

I wouldn't say he was trusted as much as the niners just didn't have a choice but to put him in as a deep threat because of his speed. Ginn has by far some of the worst hands I've ever seen he drops so many passes, the ravens game he dropped a possible game changing touchdown pass, against the giants he dropped a pass that bounced off his helmet and ended up being intercepted. I don't want to see Ginn on the field as a receiver and if we do see him as a WR then we once again don't have much depth at WR. Ted Ginn's a fantastic returner but terrible receiver.
