Justin Smith Contract Named One Of The Best In NFL

He's getting up there in years and is locked in already. Its too early to negotiate a new deal, but with his age and at his position, he's not going to break the bank.

I want to meet Justin Smith. Hes turning into one of my favorite Niners of all time. And thats saying a lot since its the offseason. I love how hes getting the recognition that he deserves, but at the same time, he himself is just so passionate about the team coming together for a run at the CHAMPIONSHIP. And all he does is get to work every day and continue to better himself--if thats even possible. Hes already a champion. I hope this is our year for him and all our others.

If Justin Smith had played his whole career with the 49ers, he would approaching 49er royalty status. As it stands now, he goes down as the best free agent signing ever.

Give the man a raise, he has earned it.

You've got to be lucky, hit free agency while you're still young enough to get a multi-year contract with a top heavy signing bonus. Perform well enough that you sign a second contract before 30. I'm sure Cowboy is OK, the teams don't throw around money once you are under contract. Looking at it realistically I'm sure most players in the NFL would take his contract in an instant.

Well how do we rate him on the all time DL list? Not as high as BY obviously but higher than stubby? Even without a DPOY award he'd get my vote over Stubby

He and BY are in a dead heat. Two of my favorite Niners of all time. Also two of the most underrated of all time.

after being selected #4 overall in the 2001 NFL Draft, he signed his rookie contract for 6 years- $10 million LOL damn have the times changed..... and quickly too.

dude has been underpaid his whole career and i bet you he still doesnt care!

and get this, the only games he did not start in, going back all the way to his freshman year in college, are the first 5 games of his rookie year in which he held out until week 1 of the regular season.
