Appeal only makes sense if he has a guarantee of reduced game. We need him against Seattle at the end of the season and if the suspension gets pushed into the back of the schedule it could be disastrous. I know this may be naive but I hope Goodell is just trying to win the PR war. Come down hard and the media is happy then reduce the sentence because he went to rehab and the media will shut their mouth because they can push that rehab message without the shock the initial sentence brings.

LOL at everyone in here beign upset about 9 games. Maybe Aldon should have used his head before he brought guns to the airport and through a fit. He has been arrested 3 times in a 2 year period. Suspension was a bit harsh, but I can't complain. You do dumb s**t, you get punished. Now we have to deal with it.

The worst thing you could do to the guy is isolate him from the team. I'm fine if a suspension places him on the bench for 9 weeks. What isn't cool is that the suspension will remove him from the team and remove him from getting the support he needs to battle this addictions. Isolating an alcoholic will make it more likely that he will relapse.
