Who would hate this? Its a 1 year deal, and now we have a big short yardage/goal line back. Hes a little old, but hes experienced, and an improvement over Dixon.

Hmmmm I remember EVRYONE saying that R Moss with the Raiders was WASHED up... How did that turn out? didnt he go to the Pats and like break a record or something for most TDs in a season? Thats a washed up guy? Maybe what B Jacobs needs is a change of scenery can it be that he started going off the deep end if thats indeed true Never met the guy so I DONT Know that he just got frustraited and it carried over when he was playing.
I remember MOST here thought that hiring T Baalke was a bad move...and people complaining when the Niners signed W Harris was a bad move cause the guy was old and washed up....there were even some complaining about the C Rogers signing being bad... hmmmmm
I like the move myself...why? Because I trust that the Niners front office knows a whole lot more about football than all of us combined

You can trust the FO but you cant expect every move to be correct, nobody is always correct.

I really like the front offices approach to free agency. Resign our own first, then secure either a young guy with potential for 2-3 year deal or a vet with talent but baggage to a no risk one year deal for any holes left on the roster, thus freeing us up to go BPA every round of the draft. Sure we still need a gaurd. But we kept our entire defense intact and added Cox at corner, added Moss and Manningham at WR when we lost Morgan and now we have Cartwright and Jacobs as competion for the third RB spot.
One Vet Gaurd and you could argue the team has zero needs in the draft...for that alone Jacobs is a good signing without even considering the player himself. He is a solid insurance policy on Gore, because lets face it he is likely to miss a few as he always does. Plus he could see some passing plays and short yardage time as a starter. Heck if the worst case scenario should happen and Gore goes down for a long stretch or a season...Hunter/ Jacobs could be a solid 1-2 punch as a one year stop gap until we draft a new feature back next year.

Smart move imo, we all know Gore is injury prone this will either allow him to stay healthy or in the event he becomes injured you have a starter quality backup to replace him.

Gore will be our all around back.
Hunter will be our quick scat back.
And Jacobs will be our power and short yardage back.

F**k Dixon.
Jacobs is b***h that's going to get our team in some bull s**t with his s**tty ass attitude.
Anyone who thinks he is the same running back from years ago don't follow s**t with the NFL...and this being the 9ersWebzone, I'm not surprised.
Dixon will beat him out, or some other running back will. Jacobs is garbarge.
BOOOwhAAAAAA.................you funny. But my ma just died..aduuuuuuuuuuuuuu

This signing says alot about what they think of Dixon. The guy is always on Twitter acting like an ass. When he is in games he dances behind the O-line. His hair looks stupid. Its hard to see the GM giving up this early on one of his guys but maybe it just competition to get that ol fire lit under his butt or they know the guy just sucks.
If cut this offseason or during preseason, its over for his career. He has been a major let down. All that size and no B*lls.

Who is Jocobs? Sounds like someone is trying to smear Jacobs name to sound like Joke-obs.

Gore ran down toward the end of the year. If they can build a rotation early so that he can be stronger for the playoffs I'm fine with that. It is also possible insurance in case of injury. And as many have said, if he creates one problem? Adios!
