Yes, he will make the probowl because anything less with receivers like Moss, Tree, Ham, and Vernon will mean our passing game performed below expectations.
If he doesn't play to probowl expectations, then I won't be surprised I'd we see Kaep finish the season be it Alex injury or subpar play.

true this.
Pro Bowl is a liability, would hate to see Willis get a major injury in a pointless game.

Well, there is that, but my money is on no RG. An excuse, but a darn good one!

Exactly! You people chasing around fantasy football statistics need to get yer heads examined. Whatever happened to "it's all about winning!" ?
Do you write this same message in every thread, or is it just threads pertaining to Alex? In 2012, if we have a similar winning record, I expect you to write "who cares, its all about winning" when we are discussing dropped passes, shaky oline play, playcalling, etc.
Winning means everything on the FIELD. This isnt the field. This is a message board. We are allowed to discuss things about our team that isnt focused on winning. Get off your high horse for once and allow us to have a discussion. Good lord. Getting old must suck.

If we get the good Randy Moss, then yes.

RG, good receivers, time, play calling, Gore holding up for the whole season, Smith continueing to be efficient, time with receivers in mini-camps and TC, luck, Smith staying healthy, winning...yeah, he could make the probowl if all the stars align but the NFL is a competitive league. He will very likely continue to play "Harbaugh ball" and not overwhelm with stats...not a bad thing. If that keeps him out of the pro bowl but gets them a super bowl win...fantastic!

If he improves on last year, then it is possible. Whether or not he will get any better is the real question. There is too many good NFC QBs for Smith to compete for a probowl spot. You have Romo, Rodgers, Manning, Vick, RG3 (not likely, but definitely possible), Brees, Ryan, and others which can outperform Smith. If he "fully understands" the system now, then he should go to the probowl.
I do not think he will improve by much. I would like to see him get better, but I just don't see it happening.

can i ask why?
alex in first time in career is going to have same offense and a decent HC for 2 years in a row
in addition to that from last year our #1 WR last year is probabbly our #3 this year and our #2 #3 #4 WR may not even make the team anymore
and despite that he had an above avergae year compared to most qbs and had 5 TD and 0 int in playoffs
and keep in mind he did good last year with short offsseason
i am not trying to shoot you down or make you change your mind or anything
just wondering why you dont think he will improve
