Yes way! The reason they are bringing him in is to see if Randy and CK could work out. We all know CK has a cannon of an arm and if Alex wouldn't sign the offer, they'll go to the season with randy and CK, knowing they have a capable guy with Scott to take over if CK can't get it done. The 49ers are already have somebody at QB this coming draft that they would love to get in the later rounds to develop.

So what am I saying, they are prepared to move on without Smith if that Condon guy keeps running the show for AS. The reality is, Condon's counter offer does not make sense right now as far as guaranteed money is concerned. The 49ers already paid AS the money he has not lived up to for at least five years of his time with the 49ers and COndon is trying to get some outrageous cash without regard to the performance that AS showed the 49ers before 2011. This, no way!
now.....breathe....
how you drew that conclusion from that article, I have no idea.
Ratto has always been a hater. But his article makes sense and is true.

Yeah.

1 good year doesn't make up for prior poor pay, regardless of whether you want to throw the rest of the team and organization under the bus as an excuse.

Many QBs have had 1 good season, forked over a s**t load of money, and got burned. The same people laughing at the Sanchez deal will be laughing if we give Smith a s**t load of money.

As for Moss, might as well as we are the hospice of WRs, where WRs go to die.

What?! Ya'll wanted a deep threat! If he shows some of his old speed, let it roll. I would be a year of sitting home and some mounting financial obligations may be enough to quiet him a little. Heck, its humbled T.O. I think.

The way I see it, Crabtree, Moss, a decent draft pick and Kyle Williams (Shhhh!) and we are probably in better shape than we started last year. I think Morgan is as good as gone. Moss at the right price is a great idea.

Other conclusions 49ERSAM drew from that article:

- Jim Harbaugh's affinity for consistent attire proves, without a shadow of doubt, that he believes Michael Crabtree has the best hands of any NFL WR.

- Obama's favorite breakfast meal is an egg white omelet with low fat cheese and mushroom. And that makes him a bad person.

Alex Smith in the 20 or so games since we fired Jimmy Raye.....

28 TDs
8 INTs
4400 yards

thats just the last year and half. even in both 2009 and 2010 while battling injuries and Singletary benching him for Troy Smith, Alex was a top15 QB in the league. He has plenty of success before JH, its not his fault that the team as whole underperformed

the first 2/3rds of his career were marred by injuries and more dumb coaching buts its clear that since 2009 Alex has turned a corner and everyone on this forum is too jaded to see it.

lol I didnt know Obama like his omelet like that.
So we will work out a lazy-a@@ like Randy Moss, but won't even consider Terrel Owens last year when we NEEDED a WR? F*ck that!

Never go full retard.
Ratto basically says nothing in that article, by the way. he takes like 300 words to say "The 49ers need a receiver and Randy Moss is a receiver. Who knows what happens next!"
I would have hoped the Niners would have learned form going the cheap route in FA last year at WR. I fear they will be doing the same again. Moss cannot be the centerpiece of their makeover at receiver. He's too volatile, too old, too many question marks.

I know FA hasn't started yet, but I am fearing that we'll have Josh Johnson throwing to Randy Moss, Michael Crabtree, Ted Ginn, and Kyle Williams next year. And that's not a good thing.

you don't think we'll draft a receiver? or sign any other receivers?

Randy Moss isn't Braylon Edwards. Besides, a workout is just information gathering. If the team decides to try to sign Moss, that means they have done their research and think he's worth the risks. They will make sure that the team isn't hurt by any such signing.
