If the Cap ends up being $120m, we'll have $33m in cap space after cutting Spencer

Everyone on-contract = $107m, right?
Carry-over from 2011 is ~$17m, right?
Goldson costs $6.2m, right?
cutting spencer will save $3m, right?

What's the problem???

You're not even reading AB's reply to your thread.
The niners carried over 12.6M from last year no the 17 you keep saying, just like AB, Maiocco had us at 30M before any of our signings

Yep. I also have all my numbers calculated into a excel workbook, with Brooks, Spillman, Goldson, Grant, Brock and Tukuafu, and we are at 21M, but thats with a 123M cap. Also we only carried over 12.6M, the 16.87M was incorrect. It didn't include incentives achieved by Alex Smith(2.5M alone).

I went to Niner Cap Hell and added up all players on contract -- they have the new Brooks and Spillman #s...that's $107m, $113m with Goldson's tag. Niner Cap Hell is really accurate.

We then get $17m from 2011...so subtract $17m from that. That puts us at $90m. With a $120m cap, that's $30m in space. Cut Spencer, you're at $33m in space. Add back in Goldson, you're at $27m.

So $27m to:
- tender Brock, Tukuafu and Grant
- give Smith a $8m - $10m deal
- Sign Rogers for $7m

That leaves us with $10m before signing any WRs. I'd like Eddie Royal, Josh Morgan, and a re-signed Soap!

You're insane if you think Alex is going to sign for $5m.

NCH is my site btw. But I have us at 114.694M in committed salaries(Between Top 51, extra bonuses, and dead money). The team carried over 12.6M, at a cap of 120.375M, + 12.6M would give us a limit of 132.975M. That leaves us at 18.281M under.

I have included into my numbers Grant(1.927M), Brock(540K) and Tukuafu(465K) tenders.

The numbers do add up to 107M. But that is without Goldson(6.2M), and Grant(1.927M), which puts us at $115.127M. Which would take us at 17.848M under, Also we have 1.048M in dead money, I have listed under salary cap page. That takes us to $116.175M, then there is the rule of 51, We have 56 signed/tendered, take away 5 for 390K each, so 1.95M off the 116.175M, puts us at 114.225M, which is around what my workbook has us at.

The carry over was only 12.6M like i said. gives us a 132.975M limit, minus 114.225M puts us at 18.75M under.

Please refer to the last sentence of the above quote for at least one thing that is wrong. Then you can go back and read the rest of his posts to figure out the rest.
For anyone iterested I uploaded a copy of my workbook to my website server.

i trust AB's #'s. He's been doing this for a long time.
I also think Nick's math is wrong.

If it is 107M then minus 17M is indeed 90M, but take away 120M-90M is 30M, but then take away 6.2M thats 23.8M Not 27M. Plus like said the carry over only 12.6M, so thats a difference of 4.4M, so take away 4.4M from 23.8M is 19.4M. Plus he didn't factor in, which isnt on the page which is my fault, the dead money which is 1.048M, so 18.352M then.
$18 million left after signing Brooks and franchising Goldson is pretty damn good IMO
They said the cap numbers are supposed to come out tomorrow (Friday 3/9/12)

Yeah. I said I didn't include Goldson. And I'm going on Mike Florio's Cap carryover numbers from PFT.
