Will we resign Justin Smith when he becomes a FA?

He will be 35 when the 2014 season starts and will probably want a big contract. Will we sign him anyway?

he'll be a Dallas Cowboy
like every person it all depends if we get them at a price we think is fair
i think 2013 is his last contracted season. I don't know if we do...
I could see him as a candidate for an extension/re-structure if we have a need to clear some cap space. Not under a threat to restructure or get cut, but more for a mutual benefit to both parties.

he's right. 2012 and 2013 will be his last 2 years with us. He'll turn 35 at the beginning of the 2014 season, IMO just like Aaron Smith I don't see Justin wanting to play past that point. Maybe he'll sign a 1 year deal with us or something but I think he will be ready to retire at that point.
doubt it , i think by then he will start to decliine, 3 years is a long time. think the niners will draft someone by then for that spot.
This guy is a Beast. He and Willis should be given the keys to the city.

depends

if we win a SB

he might retire

35, SB win, and a load of money

what more would he need

Depends on how his play is in the last year of his deal.
He will be 35 and used up about all the tread he has on the tires. If we keep him and he wants to play will be at a minimal salary with incentives.

My hope is we win a SB between now and than and he can retire and ride off into the sunset accomplishing all of his goals maybe even be considered for the HOF if his play continues at the level it has been
