Why you guys should be HAPPY about the tough schedule....

It's been right in front of you the whole time......the New York Football Giants, won the superbowl with a 9-7 record.

Look at who they lost to in the regular season:

49ers
Saints
Packers

Barely beat the Patriots

And with the exception of the Saints they beat all those teams in the playoff run.

So...worst case scenario, we lose most of our marquee matchup games but still come in strong into the playoffs and kick ass.

More realistically i think the 49ers kick some ass in the regular season:

Giants - revenge pure and simple
Saints - we will beat you at YOUR HOUSE (tired of the asterisk placed by our victory)
Packers - long time rival, perceived best team in league, etc.

I think these 3 games will receive maximum 49er effort no matter what the situation.

Patriots and Lions we can beat, but if there has to be a letdown game or one where we're not 100% there, maybe it's these two.

We can get a full realistic assessment of where we stand. This past season we only got to see ourselves against Detroit, Giants, Ravens, and Steelers (winning 3 of 4...not bad).

Next year, we get the maximum NFC schedule pretty much (except Chicago), and the freakin Patriots.

Can't wait!!!
Its one of the burdens of being a good team, you have to run the gauntlet, survive a lot of tough matchups although I do think it is b******t that the 49ers have to travel to Green Bay, New Orleans AND New England. It seems like every single time they play the Packers or the Saints, its on the road. Total rubbish.

Asterisk? What's the asterisk by our victory against the Saints?
Gotta beat the best to BE the best.

Im happy with the schedule, good challenge, and hopefully get some respect.

I think he means Playing at our house. Which i don't agree with.
I think we will beat the Pats and Pack on both of their turfs, but lose in the Superdome.

Then beat the Giants in the Divisional, the Packers in the NFC Championship and Houston in the Superbowl.

You heard it here first.
Honestly, I'm excited for it, I really did feel like this year's schedule, while not cupcake, made it very difficult to compare our team against the elites of the NFL. I did believe the 49ers to be better than the Pats, and was curious to see how they'd stack up with the Saints and Packers. Now I'll get my chance, and even we lose some of those games, it's really not the end of the world if we get better as a team that way.
We really got hosed with the schedule of opponents, but the other teams in the NFC west are going to get some of the same b/c we are all playing the NFC North teams. But getting the Pats, Saints, Fudge Packers, Jets, Giants, Lions and Bears along with the rebounding Seahawks and Cards twice is a brutal schedule. We will have one of the hardest strength of schedules next year, if not the hardest. Even if we have a good year, we are looking at a 10-6 or so.
The only way you become a great team is to win BIG games and to win them on the ROAD.

I hand it to the Giants. They had the toughest road, no home field advantage and they had to play one extra game. The Giants never buckled and won every game.

That's how you get better. That's how you mature as a team and even if we don't have a better record next year, it's not going to matter because we will gain valuable experience.

And we will get more exposure and more respect from the East Coast. Let's prove them all wrong that we weren't a fluke team. We as Niner fans know how good we are.

All we need to do is not lose our key FA's (Rogers, Brooks, Goldson)

Pick up a quality WR (but not top tier)

Address our weaknesses in the draft focusing primarilty on the Offense........And we have the team to make reaccurring trips to the Playoffs.

In Harbaugh we trust!!!!

This^

plus, i heard/read somewhere (pretty sure it was posted on this board) that over the last few years, the NFC SB champ played against the AFC East the year they won it all.

All sounds good to me!!!

2 of those 4 good teams will suck next year.
I don't mind the schedule as long as we can get a bye week again over gb and saints although we don't need one like the g men didn't .

I think with Alex at qb we lose at saints and gb for sure and maybe new England. Besides that we are good to go

I totally agree! A tough schedule will only make our team better! Win or lose we will be able to see what matchups are used against us and what works against other contenders. We will be tough! WE WILL WIN THE SUPERBOWL IN THE 2013-14 season in NY!!!
There is no asterisk on our win vs the Saints!!!
That's just retarded for anyone to say!
All of the saints turn overs where forced not f**k ups ala Williams
And we earned that win, we weren't handed the win from a refs fake ass "forward progress" call
We beat them at their own game (high scoring)
there is only 2 reasons to be happy about that schedule. 1. you can only truly see how good your team is when matched up against the best - playing against good teams makes your team better win lose or draw. 2. I will see a lot of 49ers on primetime (finally) as an East Coast 49ers fan I never see them on tv.
