Since he was drafted, Patrick Willis has been our best player on defense. But, this year another guy might've surpassed him as the Niners' best defensive player.
Is Justin Smith, now, our best player on the defensive side of the ball? I'd say he's definitely more clutch than P. Willy

It's pretty much a lock that he wins DPOY.
I agree Justin has been playing on a whole new level (Bryant Young-esque), but Patrick has been hurt and lets not forget Fangio has expanded his role this year. Either way it's a win/win.
Since when does it matter what team's fans come here to post?... If they would like to come talk sports let them.

He definitely SHOULD win it, but it's anything but a lock that he WILL. Ware, Allen, JPP, Suggs (even though 9 of his 14 sacks were in 3 games) will get votes. I wish playoffs were taken into account for these awards. If it were, J. Smith would probably finish 2nd in overall MVP voting behind just Brady.

Ballard runs something like a 5.0 - 40. but the dude is very opportunistic and knows how to find the holes in coverage.

When comparing Graham and Ballard... I definitely think we have more important people to worry about.
We held Graham pretty well....
Graham is a much better TE, it's the WR's we need to worry about.
Everyone on the 49ers D is playing at another level.
it's everyone contributing...!

Hats off to the 49ers!!!!

true. i'm just pointing out that he could be a thorn on big plays while we focus on the main guys.
Justin Smith SHOULD be the Defensive MVP. Look what he has done. He will take the game into his own hands whenever he wants, and I dare anyone in the league to try to take it back from him.

-go ahead and tweet my statement you tweeterers to the right voters and get him the award-

He embodies everything it means to be a champion

I agree but I don't think he will be, hope I'm wrong.

Hey Amir, I appreciate it Bro.

I wanted to reference on of your posts about an hour ago in another thread...
...in regards to you saying how great the Giants are playing, I wanted to suggest to rewatch their divional game if you get a chance. The Pack beat themselves in so many ways and made the Giants look much better than they are. It might make you think a bit different.

You still the man though!

Justin is more of a force than Willis is, but thats not a slap in the face at Willis, he is still a force, and I believe we have the best ILB duo, the best front 7 in NFL.

I think we will mix things up on defense. Send 3 or 4 at times, and you know what we dont need much else. Justin, Aldon, Brooks and Mcdonald are powerful enough and enough for us to be successful.

I am cautious though, Eli is no Brees, but he has improved, and Manningham, Nicks and Cruz will get looks, I think we are good enough to stop them. I mean we stopped New Orleans, with Colston, Meachem, Graham, sproles which IMO is a better offense than NYG have. I'm not afraid of Jake Ballard as I was of Graham.

On defense with them, there rush isnt GREAT, its good, but non-existent at times. Secondary is awful at times.

Ballard runs something like a 5.0 - 40. but the dude is very opportunistic and knows how to find the holes in coverage.

Dude was stumbling and bumbling all game long vs the Pack.

Thanks man.

No denying that the Packers made a ton on mistakes and had they not, they may/probably would have won. But there's also no denying that the Giants are playing really well the past 4-5 weeks. I think the biggest thing has been their defense. They are finally healthy and they have a nasty pass rush and that is what scares me the most about them. They can apply pressure with just their front 4 which is huge for their secondary, and imo, the main reason why they have been winning recently. I still think we win, I just think that we have to make sure that our OL don't let their front 4 disrupt Alex, especially on 3rd and long.

im not being rude i swear

but what is a jet fan doing here?

Short story.
I loved watching the 09 jets. Minus the turnovers your team is what I'm watching and I can't help but enjoy it. And my dad is a niners fan so I thought I'd chill here for a while and support this team on their run

Sweet bro, welcome & go niners !!

Real question is the team that got beat badly at home by the skins gonna show up? Or the team that outlasted the pack?
