did the niners get a break on williams muffed punt catch

No. The receiving player on a kick has to have the opportunity to catch it. The Steelers player interfered with his ability to catch it. We didn't get a break. It was the proper call. And for all those having hissy fit Williams is normally among the most sure handed guys on the team when not interfered with.

he broke the halo rule, thats a
it was clearly a penalty, don't see the issue
it looked to me like the Steeler player actually touched the ball first. his arm seemed to be what caused the muffed catch. either way you have to give the returner a chance to catch the ball before you plow into him.

do we need threads to breakdown each critical play?

Oh Yea
It looked like a good call to me.
I thought it was the correct call. As for the leverage penalty, not so much.

you can't touch the returner before the ball touches him. steelers guy reached out and hit williams arm before the ball got there. good penalty call, case closed

on espn they shoowed how harbaugh may have set up the leverage call, when he called for it after one of akers first half field goals..they didnt call it then but harbaugh planted the seed...but maybe i should have put this in a seperate thread as we need a seperate thread to break down each criticial play
