Which team do you think would give the 49ERS the most difficulty in the playoffs?

Saints and Cowboys. But I think we "could" beat either team. Saints are much less potent on the road and their defense isnt great. Cowboys have supreme talent in the passing game but if Vic mixes things up and blitzes more I think we could control them also and force some Romo mistakes. I had the feeling that the 2nd half of the Dallas game they played about as well as they could possibly play. Romo made every throw and they were sacking/pressuring Alex Smith like crazy. I'm assuming Harbaugh would have some adjustments ready .... both teams provide challenges but Dallas is more balanced offensively and defensively and they are the team I'd most like to see us play and beat in addition to Green Bay ...

All minus Detroit.

When drew brees is on he is on. That being said I think we are our own worst enemy right now. When we fire on all cyllinders we are money. We need to rebound from the other night and tune up our O for the end of the season. We need to get closer to our full potential.

we're gonna need mother nature to play 12th man and turn candle stick into a mud pit to slow the Saints down if we play them.

This would be the Saints, but you have to remember they will probably be on the road playing us (unless they win out and we lose 2 of our last 5). When the Saints are on the road, they are very very beatable, just nowhere near as good as they are at home, as shown by their playoff loss against Seattle last year and their 3-3 road record last year.

I think we beat the Saints when they come to our place in a close one. The Saints have a proven track record. When they had home field advantage throughout the playoffs, they won the Super Bowl, but they lost last year in a road game. Their defense also isn't even close to the turnover machine it was in their Super Bowl year.

Saints at home: 5-0, 41.6 ppg (skewed by colts game but still), 18.6 opp ppg, +3 TO diff, Saints on the road: 3-3, 25.7 ppg, 26.5 opp ppg, -6 TO.
Not afraid of those road numbers. We almost beat them last year with a terrible coaching staff. Still, that being said, I'm even less afraid of the other teams, although the Cowboys would be interesting (however, I still think we've progressed a lot since then, and that we would manage that 10 point lead better this time).

Agree. Think the Saints would be toughest team. We gotta clinch 1st round bye and home field against them.

Not scared of the Cowboys, we win that first game if we have both of our safeties healthy and the refs weren't idiots.

Probably the Saints, considering what's left. Without the wildcards, it's hard to say who else would pose a challenge. If the Falcons make it in, I could see them being a challenge because they always play well against us. They also have a better receiving corps this year. I'm still not super sold on Matt Ryan, but they have always been a pretty well-rounded team.

If the Bears had Cutler, they would also be a scary team.

Packers, Saints then Cowboys, Falcons, Lions, Giants, Bears (without Cutler).

So to answer the question the biggest threat besides the Packers I would say is the Saints and we will probably end up playing them in round 2.

Edit: Still at home we have a much much better shot and the Saints aren't nearly as lethal on the road. The Cowboys can beat anybody but it depends on which team shows up.

The Saints would carve up the Niners secondary unless they can somehow come up with a pass rush. I dont think we would beat either the Packers or Saints in a playoff game.

obviously the Saints, but we'll have them at the 'Stick if we play them, and I'm confident we'd beat them.

if for some reason we have to go to NO, I don't think we can beat them there.

nobody because out of the 2 games we have lost they really have come to the wire , what really scares me is the offense no not alex but our wideouts besides crabtree somebody has to step and our offensive coordinator we need to be more aggressive on both sides of the ball

not to be negative or anything. just a realist. Dallas, greenbay, new orleans are all tough. Dallas has underachieved for years. THere due for a turnaround. THey have a very good defense and receiving corp. If their dingbat qb continued on a roll through the playoffs they would be tough. WIth breeze and the way hes throwing the pill i would be afraid of that team. They are not one dimensional. they would be a greater challenge than gb due to this fact.
