I noticed it while watching the game, Eli would give a hard voice inflection almost every play with about 8-10 seconds left on the play clock. Each time he did this the defenders who were rushing would jump forward and give away where they were going to be rushing from. Manning would then make a read, call an audible and check down to the open reciever. None of this is new or special, good QBs do this all the time.
But the 49ers were jumping his early fake so often and giving away thier pressure so frequently that I assumed half of the time they were just jumping early to confuse Eli and give him false reads. But after rewatching the game and reading the post game interviews the Niners D tipping their hat practically the whole game.
On top of that I figured they would catch on to the fact that he always did this with 8-10 seconds yet never snapped until the play clock was down to 1-3 seconds. I admit Eli Manning is playing great football right now, but the 49ers defense was making it easy for him to see where they were rushing from and who he had to check to. Even their blitzes were a little miss timed which lead to some easy passes. I think the crowd was loud yesterday and that got them a little too fired up, it was also loud when they were on defense which must make it hard to hear the QB and pay attention to the clock. What ever it was, it makes me real happy to think that can be easily corrected and once corrected it will make our defense much better.

The one thing I noticed and was thinking "Why can't our guys do that?", was the receivers making big plays. Manning put the ball in a place where they could get it and they came down with the ball, all but that last bomb that could've been caught. I just think having that sort of receiver helps any QB out.
As far as if Manning being "that good"? I would say yes, he was making great throws, and making those reads. He's got a great team around him, and he's a good reason as to why they are succesful.

This isn't new.
The Niners have given up passing yardage to good QBs all year (Romo, Vick, Manning, Stafford).
The thing they do really well tho is bend but don't break. They allow teams to move between the 20's but then lock down in the red zone.

Manning IS that good. He's having a great season and should get his props for being in that upper echelon of QB's.

Couldn't agree more. He's good, likely the best we've seen this year.
Good eye about the hard count, Tony. I've been scratching my head a bit about the gradual drop in our pass rush's effectiveness throughout the season and that's a really interesting observation. Have you noticed this in other games?

It never jumped out at me before, so I would say if they did this it was not as much. Alot of QBs have trouble even getting the play off before the clock expires so it is not an issue. But if we dont get this fixed before we play Rodgers, Brees or Romo again we will have alot of trouble.

We still have issues in our secondary. It was clear that too many of the big plays came on the man coverage biting on the fake but its not hard for me to say Eli is playing well. He really is.

It was a combination of Eli playing outstanding (as he has most of this season) and our secondary making some mistakes. The Niners definitely have room to improve, and if our pass rush doesn't come back soon we're going to be seeing a lot more of this as the season rolls on.

Eli was that good, but those wr's are very good as well. Cruz is extremely precise running his routes.

He was making perfect throws and his receivers are very good. Very impressive. And this made the Niner victory pretty damned impressive for sure. The Giants are very good in all respects.

Manning is very good. Brown is definitely a weakness. And we bend but don't break. I guess don't worry about it if we give up lots of yards but don't give up too many scores. That's the way we play. Yardage and big plays against the 49ers D is deceiving. They don't give up huge #'s of TD's.

The only thing that matters to me is that if you can stop your opponent in the redzone, all that quarterback's passying yards go out the window.
