Once we have officially clinch the West. Do we start resting players? Or do we keep fighting for the #1 seed.

I think having home-field throughout the playoffs will be CRUCIAL, compared to traveling to Lambeau.

It's a little weird, but playing in Lambeau in January might be to our advantage. If it's snowing, windy, ect., the game might turn into a defensive run battle. We can beat GB in that type of game. I'm not saying we shouldn't go for the number one seed, it's just an interesting perspective.

It's very interesting, and it is starting to look like a win/win situation for the 49ers.

Either way the discussion is inevitable, we are already in the race as the pundits are starting to talk about 49ers vs Packers.
I like our chances where ever we play them. The Giants were a passing team playing at top notch, and we held them to 20 points in a temperate environment. Vick threw for 400+ on us, and Stafford threw for a ton as well in a non-frigid. We won all three of those games. I'm confident we can keep the Pack under 30, we just need to exploit their defense in all the right ways.
don't think there's a chance at the #1 seed, just gotta lock up that #2 seed and we're good

packers schedule is just too soft..only hiccup the might have is at NYG, but we arent gonna win out so it doesn't matter

just like a young 13-3 dallas team came into candlestick in 1992 and ambushed/upset an established 14-2 Niners team (the 2 teams hadn't met in the regular season)....i want the '11 Niners to go to Lambeau and silence all those annoying cheesedick fans...then hopefully we repay GB karmically every year from then on and eliminate those tools

things people seem to forget about is crowd noise. that stadium will be FULL TO THE BRIM all of them hostile to our niners. so i would MUCH rather have the niners play in the stick with a friendly enviroment and a LOUD crowd (hopefully like the one yesterday)

dang get with the times man negativity isn't NT's style anymore but we seriously could win out the ravens are a huge up and down team (beat steelers then this week jaguars breakdown etc) steelers game will be extremely tough but it is very very possible

I'd split carries 50-50 between Gore and Hunter/Dixon.

I'd work Boone & Rachal in on the o-line in the 3rd & 4th quarters.

I'd throw Kap in the game in the 3rd & 4th quarters of NFC West blowouts... maybe not even blowouts. Maybe 14 pt leads.

I'd get Shawntae Spencer back on the field ASAP.

I'd let Larry Grant and whomever else get some reps in place of Bowman & Willis.

And I'd let Madieu gets some reps in place of Goldson (he does back up Goldson, right?).

Give the starters rest and get backups playing time...nice

you never can underestimate a crowd it will be a hostile enviroment for sure playing up in seattle at that time of year with playoff atmosphere would be a nightmare and in green bay they are expecting at least NFC champs if not a repeat it will be loud unless we can shut them up immediately

we have a better shot at winning in GB IMO

we gonna repeat the feat of the '88 NFCCG when we silenced soldier field

Some expert was saying on the radio yesterday that he believed it would benefit the niners to go into green bay in December, in the possible snow, since the niners are meant to play in all types of weather. Green Bay, however, was built to play in pristine conditions.

this
maybe the team should spend the 1st round playoff BYE practicing up @ Youngstown, OH again...or after the divisional round go straight to Youngstown...maybe Michigan (University of)...Harbaugh probably crazy enough to do so....
I think its one of those rare times where we might be better off being the number two seed. Bad weather might be the only thing to slow down that offense.
