04:42 ? The 49ers sport a 7-1 record under Jim Harbaugh and have all but sewn up the AFC West. Steve Wyche travels to the Bay Area to see how the Niners have responded to a new coaching style and a new state of mind.
AFC West? Wow

They ask Willie McGinest about our chances in the playoffs? Give me a break.
He says our defense hasn't had our backs up against the wall? Thats what are defense is! They stop the run and bend but don't break against the pass. We have the least amount of points scored on us from the red zone this year.
Get it right Willie!
Its easy to say Alex hasn't shown he can pass us to a win, yet when you think about it he has three 4th quarter comebacks @ Cin, @ Phil, @ Detroit. Its easy to say Alex hasn't proven anything because he hasn't been there before.
Everything McGinest talks about is either speculation or untrue.

Sometimes I really wish these athlete/sportscasters would get some training on how to speak coherently. McGinest was an excellent player and dufus broadcaster.

I don't think Willie was all that far off. He said we are #1 against the run and middle of the pack against the pass, which is true. We have to get better in that area to make it to the Super Bowl. Also not that we lost and almost lost against to two best passers we played, Romo and Vick.
Eli will be a great test. They don't run the ball well anyway, so I assume they'll fold up that effort after a drive or two of getting 1.5 ypc.

We shut down Stafford, I don't see why we will have a huge problem with Eli.

what i found funny about what he said was he was on the 2001 patriot sb champ team, they had 1 of the most underwhelming rosters (at that time) to ever reach a sb and they were taking on the GSOT rams who just completed scoring 500 points for the 3rd year in a row, if anyone should know where we're comin from with our style of play it should be him, guess not though

Good point. They probably told him what to say. I can't believe he said we couldn't stop the Falcons. If she shut down the ATL run game I don't think they could beat us. And he totally down played our win @Philly saying they aren't that good of a team this year. They just put 34 up against Dallas.

Vick was arguably the toughest test for our entire regular season especially Cuz the guy has alot of weapons and his running abilities. Hopefully we run into the biggest threat named Rodgers. Eli has a horrible tendacy for throwing it up with pressure in his face.
