I agree with this. If he and Culliver keep getting better I like our future at the CB position
No question Carlos Rogers should have been in the core guys category

Brown has played pretty well as of late, but I don't see him being a guy the team can build around. Rogers has been superb, Culliver is a ball of potential and I like Brock's physical play and nose for the ball. Injuries aside, I would put those three guys above Brown. Spencer might even be above him if he were healthy. Brown is guy with decent cover skills, but he doesn't seem to make too many plays on his own. THe team has some young options and will probably target this position early in the next draft, making Brown and SPencer expendable. They are still capable of playing in this league, but I think they go somewhere else. Just an opinion.

I can see the argument here. The big reason I didn't put him there is because of his one year contract and the relatively few games we've had with him. I think he will be a Core Guy if we lock him up long term and he continues to create turnovers and coverage sacks.

By the way, this took waaaaaaay longer to write than to conceptualize.
Nice work!

Gotta puts Ahmad Brooks in the Core group based on play from the 1st snap.

He's played almost every single snap, straight-up in Fangio's defense (vanilla) and has been double-teamed all year and still is:
6th is tackles only behind Bowman, Willis, Goldson, Smith & Whitner (team)
1st in TFL (team)
2nd in PD only behind Willis (LB's) and
3rd in sacks (team)

And how many sacks, QB pressures (injured QB's), passes knocked down, TFL's, etc. were on 3rd downs and/or critical drives? Clutch...CLUTCH!

No more offsides penalties either.

If that's not a complete core player who is? Give him his love...he's earned it.

Agree!
Good evaluations, thanks.
Heads up to everyone that ESPN is doing a show on Patrick Willis' childhood. I will be tonight on ESPN the E:60 show at 8pm EST. I tried to sign up and start a thread to let people know but you can't start threads until you have been a member for one week. So I thought I would include it in a couple threads that are at the top so people can see about it. I didn't see that anyone had posted it yet.
Thanks ninerfansd! See you at Typhoon!!!
Man, you sure put in a lot of work. Fine post and I think you covered all the bases.

Agree. He is finally developing his talent....or should I say the coaching staff is?
