Culliver > Peterson

Peterson is better. He has proven to a major stud on punt returns.
He has three punt returns for scores--that leads the league.
I think his average yards per punt return are 2nd in the league.


As corner backs, they are very close.

Peterson has 2 interceptions and 10 passes defended.
Culliver has 1 interception and 7 passes defended.

In corner back play, I would give a bit of an edge to Culliver, but it is very early in their careers.
But, I do think that Peterson's play as a DB has been getting better.

after game note: Culliver had a better game than Peterson!!!!!!!!

The crux of the matter is that Culliver is proving to be a good pick as a corner back.
He is much better than most of this board thought he would be.

Don't forget that "tackle" on that long pass play down the sideline. Cully reached up to his shoulder yank to the guy to the ground and you could almost see his decision making and he pushed him out of bounds instead. Not calling him an insane genius for it but he easily avoided a horse collar penalty and conveniently we picked Skelton off in the next play or two.

EDIT: Peterson's athletic ability allows him to contribute on special teams, that blocked field goal for example or his 99 yard punt return against STL but as of right now Cully is a better defensive back then Peterson by a mile. Maybe Peterson will reach his hype but he is definitely a special teamer more then a defensive player right now, which is why I laugh at the possibility of him being on the ballot for DROY.

peterson got f**king shredded by crabtree and williams today. then he fumbled a punt return. i would expect more out of the #5 pick in the draft
