49ers Attempted to Trade Up to Draft Andy Dalton (per NFL.com)

This whole thread is worthless and Incorrect. I recall Peter King who was IN the WAR room say that Harbaugh want Kaepernick as his #1 QB the whole time

I think I heard this, we tried with i think NE, but they wanted a boat load.

Why were they celebrating and jumping up and down if they wanted Dalton? Are they into self torture or something?

The last loss was tough. It was the Cowboys. We were AHEAD. People are looking to trash the team as a way of coping with the pain.

Personally, I am not over it either. We can beat the Bengals easily if we play to win, once we do that, I think people will be excited enough about the Eagles game to get positive again. If we BEAT the Eagles, then we can finally get rid of these types of threads for few weeks.

Vince Young was a decent QB when he wasn't a head case. Colin has what it takes to succeed upstairs.

And where do you get the bad accuracy? His accuracy has improved every year in college and when he makes high percentage type passes he's quite accurate. Go and watch how he played in the Raiders game when he had time to throw. Near perfect placement to where only the receiver could catch the ball and also run with it without breaking stride aka perfect WCO throws.

It's kind of pointless talking about Colin at this point. People already made their opinions on him based on pre-season. You have no faith in him..I'm sure he'll still sleep ok tonight. I think the guy showed enough to think he can play at this level with more time.

Sooner or later we'll see if he puts it together. All the physical tools are there.

I can make a list of nothing but speculation too. It's easy. Watch....

1. 49ers felt Colin Kaepernick was worth trading up for so they went and got their guy.

2. Colin Kaepernick will sit this year and learn and then have a career like Phillip Rivers and many other qbs who sat their rookie seasons on the bench.

3. Andy Dalton will be a game manager qb while Colin goes on to be a star in this league

4. Being NFL ready doesn't mean best long term success

5. Harbaugh stuck with Smith because he wanted Colin to sit for a year and learn

6. We got rid of McCown because he's done nothing in this league and keeping a guy on a roster just because he's a mediocre veteran is stupid when you can keep another promising rookie who's cheaper and can be better than said veteran.

Young's problem is his head not his athletic ability. Kaep does not have the head problem but it remains to be seen if his athletic ability is enough to warrant his draft position.

If he was playing right now we lose the game today. Just like how people were saying they would take Bradford over Smith last week. You all need to stop talking out your a$$e$.

Interesting that Dalton's QB rating has plummeted to 82.1 from 104 (as of week 2). Dalton's QB rating for the game vs the 49ers was 40.8.

With as "bad" as our secondary is, Dalton should have continued his streak of games with a QB rating of over 100.

Maybe Dalton is just not as good as some/others here think? It's just too early to make these types of statements for Dalton and Kaepernick.

Yea I'm not saying he's going to have the mental issues VY did but I say poor mans VY because IMO Vince was a better athlete and passer coming out of college and still was scrutinized for his game. Now VY was drafted 3rd overall and Kaep was taken high 2nd round so the expectations are different but just watching Kaep in college I didnt see his game translating to the NFL. I hope I'm wrong and certainly have faith in Harbaugh...but I have more faith in Tolzien that Kaep going forward.
