Didn't we say that about Ware? And in 2009 about Mathis and Freeney, etc etc etc. Every year we play some team where they have this bomb pass rusher who's going to "killz Alecks" and it never happens. Not saying that's because of Alex or anything but if there is ONE thing we game plan well for...it's these elite pass rushers.

THE PROBLEM with that is it requires Vernon Davis to be utilized as a blocker and that "closes" the offense up. So while Alex isn't getting pummeled by __________ the most elite pass rusher in the universe....we can't truly open up the offense because VD has to play RT/LT the whole game. And if you notice...we tend to lose these games real close (18-14 vs Colts, 27-24 vs Cowboys, etc).

well its not that the Bengals are that good, more so its that the 9ers are not that good (with the current approach of playing not to lose). Bengals can put up points...and their rookie QB is playing better than Alex.

and their defense have former 9ers who I'm sure are eager to show up their former team.

Manny is probably going to be guarding Vernon...and if Vernon is covered, Alex an't going to take the chance to throw it. If used properly, Nate could be a pain against us.

so no, it is not guaranteed....if we come out blazing like against the Cowboys and let Alex pass...then maybe, but if we play it close on the road...we will lose the game.

Bengals are like us, they also have a deep front 7 but their secondary sucks.

Their offense is more potent mainly due to play calling.

Which Bengals are we talking about? Cause the Bengals suck. The rookie QB is performing well along with their rookie WR... but again it was against the Browns and Broncos ie: the 21st and 32nd rated defenses in the league last year. On the other side their defense is the weakest defense we played all year including preseason. The only hurdle to overcome in this game is a 10am start on the road, but I aint even worried cause this will be the game that Gore starts to get going and Hunter gets some touches along with a TD pass to VD finally.

A rookie QB and rookie WR on the road still played that well. They should play even better at home.

We lost to CAR last year on the road. We suck on the road.

We were UP 10-7 against Carolina until Alex went down. Then...Carr came in and... well u know the rest.

we beat cincy, stun philly(who we always play tough), handle tampa (redemption), spank Detroit (will sleep on us).......... here is why

Cincy- Too inexperienced, poor secondary, we sack dalton 4-5 times he's running scared

Tampa- We played them tough even in a loss last year, they come off one dimensional to me, our D wins this one

Philly- Defense doesn't seem all that it's cracked up to be. Gore goes crazy, keeps vick off of the field our quick lbs will do the job

Detroit- Min, Dal, Chi? Tough stretch for any team.... They prob see us as the easiest out of the 4 games esp home, we stun them....

5-1 heading into the bye..... Philly is a toss up 4-2 worst case scenario...........

i think we can beat the eagles its definitally possible because they have a crappy run game and vick wont be able to run that much cause we have a fast D forcing him to be a pocket passer

lions will be hard they have a great offense the hardest WR to guard in the nfl while having the best D line by far in the nfl
Bucs is definitally winnable out of all of those but still a tough win

If we win @ Cinci I will be stoked.. Its gonna be tougher than some think.. 2-1 after 0-3 last year is HUGE!! but i expect nothing less than 3-3 going into the bye. I believe SEA is OUT of the mix, STL will be in a HUGE hole with their tough schedule Our main rival this year will be Arizona.. I think the winner in this division will have to win 9+ games

I won't be, i have high standards for this team, and jim. Looking at the teams we play, i say the only loss would have been the eagles, but without vick running around, and no kolb i can see us grabing that one.
