what i dont get is why through 2 games alex is only avg 22 passes per game. that ranks 31st only besting luke mccown(32nd) in jax who is avg 21.5 passes per game. alex is also ranked just behind donavan mcnabb(30th) who checks in with 22.5 passes per game.
now i could understand being 31st in pass attempts if we could run the ball like minn(172.5 yds/g) and jax(137.5 yds/g) who are both ranked in the top 7. but we are ranked 25th in rushing and avg less then 80 yds a game(79.5) with a 2.8 yd avg. all this while being ranked in the top 10 in att/g. whats funny is we rank 10th in r/att. and minn ranks 9th with 1.5 more carries a game. lmfao, they are getting more then double the yds as us on the ground with only 1.5 extra carries a game.
square peg, round hole?
i really do love harbaugh, but what the hell is he doing?

It's been the same offense no matter who is the coach. I thought we brought Harbaugh in to change the offensive approach--not the same old thing.
It comes down to two things that work in tandem---an O line not handling a pass rush---and a QB or WR ( or the combination) not able to beat a strong pass rush with the quickie TD. You do that enough times---that will really slow down the pass rush.

short offseason= limited playbook
this is so obvious we even as a fan base discussed this going into the season
hell even harbaugh and roman said it
it wont take off and we wont use our full playbook till we master it which will probally be only week 8 or 9 but we should look a lot better after teh bye week
also expect our playbook to open up a bit more week by week

The lock out was so long, they watched film of the players, and decided they saw parts of the singltary offense they liked.

Uh, were you expecting instant turnaround overnight? We have pretty much the same personnel from last year.

then why has cam newton who is a rookie thrown for 400yds 2 weeks in a row in the same offseason? its because he is passing the ball a hell of a lot more then only 22 times a game. he is benefiting from the playcalling. im still trying to figure out who exactly is benefiting from our playcalling because i dont see it.

As long as Alex doesn't get injured it will, if CK or Tolzien are forced to come in, they will probably dumb it down again. (if ck cmoes in, they will prob have al ot of QB keepers in there)

That's a hard question to ignore because I'm pretty sure they simplified the offense for Cam as well. Having Steve Smith, DeAngelo Williams and Shockey doesn't hurt either.

man it sure does feel that way. where is the wco, becuase i feel like i have been duped. i think i recall only seeing one slant yesterday. and besides the walker td, where is the creativity at? get hunter in there as a change of pace back here and there and throw him and gore some balls in space ala ricky waters.
get vd involved in the game plan for crying out loud. all you do is do dallas a favor by keeping him into block. teams fear davis when he is running routes, they dont fear him sitting at home blocking. what a complete waste of our best offensive threat/playmaker. that one still boggles my mind. and who did they have that could cover vernon exactly, nobody. even billick kept calling for vernons number, but the calls never came. that alone is just a motha f*** ^$^$%$%^$%^$%^$%$@&$&^^%#&#$%$%&$% joke.
somebody tell me im not crazy here?
is jh tripping?

This is the conservative version of Singletary's offense. I miss Jimmy Raye!!

i thought you were supposed to go full throtle every game you play and make sure you do everything in your power to win. why hold back ever? if you cant run the ball then you throw it, and vice versa. you dont just keep banging your head against the wall like sing would do. we should be trying to kill other teams and crush their spirits. i dont get that feeling with our offense. i get the same old tired feeling of keep it close and hope for a win. you dont hope for wins you take them!!!!

The answer is that Cam may be new to the system, but the rest of the team has been there for awhile. They have some pretty good receivers in Smith, Laffel, Shockey and Greg Olson. Just remember what Montana said in that interview and try to be patient. Once the line gets used to zone blocking and we get healthy, we will see better results and the coaches will call better games.
Also would like to remind you that 400 yards resulted in back to back losses with the 2nd game full of stupid plays that really cost them the game. Cam is the real deal, but he isn't winning games, and that is what the object of the game is, not to pile up yards unless it is within the game plan.

THREE WORDS
POOR OFFENSIVE LINE!!!!!!!
Period end of story. They aren't playing well. They need to be a hell of a lot better than the way they are playing. Staley said the line calls were so much better than last year, but it's a new offense (8 in a row now).
Also Dallas has a good front seven.......we do too, but there seven is better than ours.
We will get there. We almost did win on Sunday. So we are getting closer.
