49ers signed RB Xavier Omon, C Chase Beeler, OT Derek Hall, WR Joe Hastings, CB Cory Nelms, TE Konrad Reuland, and OLB Monte Simmons to their practice squad.
Journeyman Omon opened eyes with a strong exhibition season, rushing for 121 yards on 30 carries. The final spot is expected to go to LB Keaton Kristick, who was waived Sunday. It's interesting to note that a quicker Hastings was kept over sixth-rounder Ronald Johnson, who struggled in preseason action.

I saw Xavier play and looked obvious he'd be PS. I remember Reuland caught a nice catch but the knock was that he's still learning blitz pick up- great hands though. He got smacked on that play! Don't know anything about the other guys. Someone want to fill me in?

They all look good to me, except Simmons, I don't recall him doing much in preseason, will he be the one to get released when someone gets released from the 53 to make room for Gooden?
