I'd say a second rounder or prefferably not trade him at all.

Gore is such a strong blocker, we should move him to FB and Hunter to RB. No need for a 3rd down back or no need to remove the FB. Put these guys with Delanie and Vernon and it's ownage.

A THIRD? That is far too low. A first rounder, and that is it. Frank is a GREAT running back right NOW. This isn't Taylor Mays we're talking about. This isn't some guy with potential. Frank Gore is a GREAT football player. Not "average" or "over the hill". He is tough as hell, and will be very good for at least 4 more years. You don't DIE when you hit 30. Just ask Jerry Rice.
I agree 100%, Gore is still the best overall back in the league!!!! There are backs that specialize in running or catching, and few do both great. If u take gore's football iq and the intangibles that he brings to the game, gore is still an elite back!!
GORE = 3 rd round pick, ur nuckin futs !!!!

I think we should trade Chris Johnson for a bag of peanuts and M&M's

You don't get it. You are correct in that Gore is worth a 1st round pick...TO US. To another team on the other hand who see's him getting older, getting hurt, and playing a very de-valued position, he is worth nowhere near a 1st.
Its not up to the 49ers or us fans to decide what he's worth. He is "worth" what another team would be willing to offer. Right now, that ain't much.
Bottom line, he's worth more to the Niners than any other team so he should just stay.
