maybe a first rounder, but i dunno..i'm always down with making moves to upgrade the roster, but trading frank just seems wrong. He's a true 49er, look at the things he said after ending his hold-out, and think about what he's done for us up until pretty much the end of his prime. I doubt he's even lost a step,been looking pretty good so far in limited carries this preseason. I wanna see him as a Niner until he's on his last legs, at which point his departure would at least be somewhat expected.

Bellicheat gets rid of guys who have one, maybe two yrs left, then gets a first or second rd pick for him, tho usually a first. Right now if somebody dangled a CB that has contract issues, or is UDFA about to be cut/ or make cut, that might be of interest. Getting rid of frank to just get rid of him...i don't think anyone wants that.

I agree 100%, Gore is still the best overall back in the league!!!! There are backs that specialize in running or catching, and few do both great. If u take gore's football iq and the intangibles that he brings to the game, gore is still an elite back!!

You don't get it. You are correct in that Gore is worth a 1st round pick...TO US. To another team on the other hand who see's him getting older, getting hurt, and playing a very de-valued position, he is worth nowhere near a 1st.

Its not up to the 49ers or us fans to decide what he's worth. He is "worth" what another team would be willing to offer. Right now, that ain't much.

Bottom line, he's worth more to the Niners than any other team so he should just stay.

This. It's all about perceived value. Not to mention, when was the last trade where a RB generated a really high return? Champ Bailey for Portis?

If someone was to throw a 1st at us for Frank, I'd have to take it(talk about hurting my heart, though). Other than that, try to get a reasonable deal done to extend him, or draft a replacement next year if need be, thank him for his years of service, and wish him well with his new team.
