Niners have been playing well all year, Giants have had their slip ups (Seattle). I dont count the Redskins game as a slip as, we had a rash of injuries in camp and they werent ready yet week 1.
Eli has played well all year 13 tds 6 picks (one in garbage time vs Seattle)..
Niners have a strong running game, and a stout run defense.
Giants have had their full offensive line together twice this year, and both of those games they ran well.
Bradshaw ( may be out) but Jacobs this past week 22 touches for 100 yards is very servicable.
Nicks and Baas will be back.
Meaning the Giants starting WR are Nicks, Manningham, Slot is Cruz, Emerging star Ballard at TE and Barden as the 4th WR.
The NY Giants never get blown out and they never blow anyone out.
I expect this game to be hard hitting, and hope that it comes down to A. Smith having to make a play. If the Giants can contain Gore to 100 yards on 25 carries, they win the game.
A. Smith is the NY Jets version of Mark Sanchez, he can lose you the game, but he surely isnt going to win it for you.
Either way, this will be a great game and I cant wait to visit SF for the first time of my life.
6 tickets and 2 parking passes we paid $315 total..
See you all at the tailgate party and good luck to both teams
49ers haven't given up 100 yards to a running back in nearly two seasons and they have the best run D in the league...and that streak will NOT end in SF this weekend. This will come down to if Eli can hit open WRs before the pass rush (without blitzing) gets to him. But which Eli will show up? Make no mistake about it, your team has NOT faced a defensive front 7 like this on your schedule yet. Niners not only can stop the run, but their D has given up the least # of points per game. If Niners D gets a turnover, they will capitalize, we're double-digit ahead in that category, too.
And don't compare Smith to Sanchez, Alex has only two INTs and makes better decisions this year than he has his whole career. Sanchez has 7 INTs, that's nearly one INT per game. Also, I can think of two games where Smith has "won" it for us: see Eagles game (after being down 20 pts). and see Lions game (4th down TD pass).
Finally, I was rooting for you guys to beat the Patriots and break their home game win streak...just like I was rooting for you to beat NE in the SB. This will not be an easy win for either team. But until then, let's hope for no injuries and enjoy your visit to the bay area. Visit Fisherman's Wharf, tourists seem to enjoy it.
