SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS VS. SEATTLE SEAHAWKS GAMEDAY THREAD (WEEK 1, 2011)

http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/6512/brandon-browner

CB Brandon Browner is expected to start opposite Marcus Trufant in the Seahawks' opener.
Yikes. Browner is 6-foot-4, 27 years old and has spent four seasons in the CFL after getting tryouts with a half-dozen NFL teams. Now it appears he's ahead of Walter Thurmond III for the starting gig after Kelly Jennings was traded away. Sep 5 - 11:10 AM

Browner was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Denver Broncos in 2005. Browner impressed coaches with several interceptions and aggressive play in training camp and he was a strong defender in goal line and red zone drills. The promising undrafted rookie from Oregon State fractured his left forearm August 20th against San Francisco. The Broncos placed him on injured reserve on August 25, 2005 and he missed the entire 2005 season. On July 24, 2006, Denver waived him to make room for other players.
Browner signed with the Calgary Stampeders in 2006. His speed and competitive effort made him a fan favourite in his short time with the team. He won the 2008 Grey Cup with Calgary and was named a CFL all pro All-Star for the season. Browner was the only defensive player on a gritty Calgary defense selected to the CFL all pro All-Star team for the second year in a row for his performance in the 2009 season.

maybe he isnt as bad as he is made out to be
So ready for this game on Sunday! Go Niners!

There is plenty to criticize in Alex's play without making stuff up. Blind, irrational fervor is what makes the extremists in either (pro- or anti-Alex) camp sound so ridiculous.

Not gonna get into an A Smith discussion here but "blind, irrational fervor" is not how you would characterize someone who criticizes Smith for that particular overthrow.
Any update on Crabtree?

dude, I was there. Alex had a good game (one of the few that year), and that was a perfect throw. He lofted the ball into a wide open spot that Norris would have been at if he just stayed on his route. Who the hell stops a route a few yards short of an open patch of endzone to try and backpedal to make a catch? I see nine-year-olds on the playground pulling that stuff, not pro athletes.
