***SF 49ERS VS. OAK RAIDERS GAMEDAY THREAD (Preseason Week 2)***

The DE takes off into a full sprint 10 yards down the field to the first down marker because there was no RB on his side of the field so he ignores the flat and drops to the first down marker. If alex hits DW the DE comes up and destroys DW before the first down.

And the ball was placed fine... a 6-4 DE had to leap and fully extend to make that pic, it would of hit the receiver right in the numbers. He still made a mistake, but if he was looking at the seem route, noticed the safety coming on a delayed blitz then hit his second read without hesitating going for the first down over the checkdown, its better than a sack or hanging his check down DW out to dry.

Again, it was a great play by the DE, the alternative would be DW decapitated.

A sack is much better then an interception. You can just punt the ball away if you get sacked...

Also, if he hit Walker, he had a chance to get a first down. The DE was playing zone and wouldn't of been able to track down the much quicker Walker. There was seperation there.

Shaughnessy turned around and ran to his zone then hovered there and Smith threw it right to him. It was a terrible interception, not a good play by the defense. Smith needs to see that or if he saw it, not make the throw.

It was a simple int most members on this zone could have made.

Watch the video....On Smith's hitch, he looks right at the defender. Either Smith thought he could get it over the DE or Smith didn't see him. Either way, that's a bad play by the QB. The correct throw was underneath the DE to Walker on the short cross.

He made up his mind at the line he was going to Vernon so he looked off the Safety until he turned to throw. Those interceptions i can live with because they will be few and far between.

WHAT!? lmao....please tell me you're just f'ing around...no one's grammar can be that bad....can it?

I have a few deaf friends who type the same way. You can understand what they mean when they type. Doesnt call for you to clown on him. Hes a die hard fan and thats all that matters imo.

What, in the name of all that is great and small, does being deaf have to do with typing? Buzzb has been incoherent for years, it has nothing to do with his ears. You can't hear grammar or spelling. You learn the basics. Please educate me if I'm wrong.

Excuse me if I'm being rude, but this 4-way conversation is quite hilarious.

Buzz, I'm gonna have to disagree with you on this one... Alex performance in the redzone last night had little to do with him but more to do with Harbaugh's play calling, he went vanilla and ran every time. Our problem is not in the redzone anyways, its getting there and we had no problem against the raiders.

3rd & 8 at that section of the field, trying to go 10+ yards and getting intercepted is not a big difference to a sack then punt in terms of field position . That play was totally situational, on both sides. If its not 3 & 8 the D-end doesnt run back to the 1st down marker and would focus a little more on containing the flat. But DW would have been dead to rights, at the time of the throw the end was 5 yards from DW. The moment alex turns his head to the middle toward DW, plus the release + catch, he easily makes the break on the ball and a free shot on DW. Alex still made the mistake of staring down the sideline for his first 2 reads, which led to DE to the sideline, but give the DE some credit he was in perfect position to either make that pic, or take out DW depending on where Alex looked. Just a good defensive call and for the offensive play. It happens.
Are they replaying the game tonight? I live in SF.

Yes, He can throw the TD from far yards like 40 to 80 yards TD... Did you noticed Alex can't throw the TD the 10 to 25 yards closed on TD when I already noticed him cuz he can't made it the TD.. ... I want Alex need creative play the style score the TD...

WOW! You and I saw a COMPLETELY different play.

I went back and looked at it as well as the TV replay. At the snap of the ball, Schaughnessy made a hard fake as if to rush the passer and THEN he dropped into coverage. It appeared that Smith read his fake line charge and took it to be man coverage so he looked off the safety then came back to Davis without checking to see that Schaunghnessy had dropped. The pass was on target for Davis had the defender not dropped.

All Smith's fault for not re-checking the coverage but it was an excellent play by the DE, both in his fake and getting quickly into a rather deep drop for a DE. Blame Smith for not making the correct read but also give the defense credit for setting it up well.

That's all.

I don't know about that, Buzzb makes a far more coherent point above.
